The rest of the night is fun, I talk to Clint and Tony, who tells me about the suit he’s working on and how great it will be when he finishes it.
I challenge Thor to a round of table tennis and win most of the matches.

Around 11pm I can feel my moms hands on my shoulders and turn around.
“Just one more match.” I plead with big eyes but she shakes her head.
“It’s already pretty late and it’s time for you to go to bed.”
“Just this one round, if I win this, I can take Thors hammer with me.”
Her eyes flicker over to Thor who leans on his hammer and winks at me.
“He’s kidding because he knows you won’t be able to lift it.”
Thor looks a little offended and points at my mom. “That’s not the truth.”
“So I could lift it?” I ask intrigued and he steps back a little, gesturing to his hammer.
“Go on little Romanoff, try it.”

Suddenly the noises near us die down a little and I can see some of the Avengers turning around, interestedly watching the scene.
I nod and walk around the table, stretching my arms before I place my hands around the handle. After a deep breath I pull at it but it doesn’t move a bit.
Looking up at Thor, he chuckles a little and takes a sip from his beer. I narrow my eyes at him.

“You knew it wouldn’t work.”
He shrugs. “Maybe. I mean you have to me worthy to lift it.”
I look back at the hammer. “If I can lift it…can I keep it?”
He thinks a few seconds and nods, laughing a little. “Sure, why not.”
“Come on, y/n. Let it go, it’s time to go to bed.” I look back at my mom.
“One more try, please.”

She looks at me a few seconds before nodding. “But just one more.”
I turn back around to the hammer and crack my knuckles before grabbing the handle again.
My whole concentration lays on my hands as they pull it up.
It slowly lifts and I let out a loud squeal before letting go.
But it stays in the air and I look up at a smirking Thor who holds the loop at the end of the handle.
“Not quite little Romanoff.”

I huff and hit his arm. “That was mean.”
“It was, let her try again.” Tony comes up to us and points from the hammer to me. I gesture towards Tony, agreeing with him.
“Fine.” Thor puts the hammer down.
“No. I said once and not twice.” My mom interrupts us and I pull a face but nod.
“I will try again, Thor. Be ready to lose your hammer.”
He laughs at my comment. “Sure, I’m looking forward to it.”

“Good. Have a great night, everybody.” I wave at the others and follow my mom out of the room.
“Imagine if I would really lift that thing! I would be as strong as a God!”
My mom smiles at my excitement.
“That surely would make him go quiet and question a lot.” She chuckles at the thought and takes me to my room.
“Good night, malyschka. Sweet dreams.” She kisses my forehead.
“Good night, mama. You too.” I smile and give her a quick squeeze before she leaves my room and closes the door.

I get ready for bed and lay down, thinking about everyone’s face if I would have lifted the hammer.
Slowly my eyelids get heavy and I drift of to sleep.

A/n: This chapter is a little shorter but the next one will be exciting. XD
