When my alarm goes of, I almost shoot out of bed. Wanda next to me at my quick movements but I'm honestly just excited and nervous about today. This will be my first every mission.
I'm not a part of the main plan but I'm still a part of it and that makes me excited.

I was a little worried at first that it might cause a reaction from my brain, considering the attack from Ultron on the tower and my time in the Red Room but I'm actually fine. I know I won't have to handle a gun and will be safe. And besides, I won't be alone, Wanda will be by my side until I'm in the quintjet and no one else except the Avengers will enter it.

Mom was still worried about the whole situation but I assured her that I will be fine and that there's nothing to be concerned about.

Wanda mumbles something next to me and turns around, away from me and the light I switched on. I smile and lean over her to see her face nuzzled into the pillow and her hair covering her face. My fingers softly tug it behind her ear to expose her face.

I lean down and place kisses all over the side of her face that I can reach. When my lips kiss the corner of her lips, they lift up a little into a content smile and she finally opens up her eyes, turning to lay on her back to look up at me.

"Good morning, sleepyhead." I whisper and kiss her nose which makes her scrunch it up and my heart melts at the sight, as always.

"Good morning, sunshine." She smiles lazily and puckers her lips for a short kiss. I obligate and kiss her. She smiles when I pull away and stretches her arms and legs. I sit back before getting up.

It's quite early but the adrenaline in my body makes me be awake. I get into my clothes and look back to see Wanda watching me with a smile. I roll my eyes playfully at her and she shakes her head before also getting up. She hops into the shower while I go down to the kitchen where mom already makes breakfast.

I can see she is a little nervous and just sit on a barstool. We have a light conversation, just small talk before she passes me a bowl with my breakfast. I start eating it and smile at Wanda as she appears in the kitchen as well.

She already wears her suit for the mission and I almost choke on my food when I see her. This suit really makes her look hot!

I mean, she always does but for some reason this looks even more attractive. She winks at me when she notices my staring and I sulk before smiling back at her.

Mom passes her a bowl as well before we head over to the dinning table. All of us stay quiet while eating and a few minutes later, we are joined by the other Avengers. They seem well rested but also not talkative, which all of us appreciate. Even though I'm awake and feel excited, I'm not really in the mood to talk to them, it's still a little too early for that.

After breakfast, Tony takes me down to the room with all their suits and stuff. He opens a closet and hands me a vest, some pants and gloves. I take them and from the feeling of the material, I can tell that it's all bulletproof. He gestures towards a little changing room and I get into those clothes. They fit very well and while I'm stepping out again, I close some last straps so it's all secured.

"Looks good, kid." Tony says with a hint of a smile when he sees me. I thank him and eye the bracelets he has in his hands.
"Those are the widow bites I've been talking about. I changed them a little bit, so they are easier to use." He explains and helps me put them on before explaining how to switch them on and off. I try it out and my eyes grow big when they start to light up with blue light.

"We have a little bit time left, maybe go to the shooting range and try them out, so you know what it feels like." He suggests and I nod. I let him alone in the room, seeing him starting to adjust something on his suit.

The elevator takes me up again and when I enter the gym, I hear noises from the shooting range. When I step in, I see Wanda shooting an energy ball at a puppet. She hits it in the middle and the puppet flies away.

"That looks really badass." I compliment and she turns around with a smile. Her eyes scan over my body and I can tell by her expression that she likes the way I look. I hold up my arms, showing her the bracelets.

"Tony said I should train a little with them before we head out." I explain and she nods before going to set the puppet back up.

"Try hitting it in the stomach, that should do it." She suggests and I take her advice.

I get in position and switch the bites on before lifting my arm. I angle it to hit the stomach of the puppet and shoot the first electric impulse. It doesn't quite hit where I wanted it to but the legs instead. I mean, that would probably work too but maybe I should try a few more times.

And that's what I do. Wanda watches me every once in a while between her own training. It's a calm atmosphere, even though we're both shooting something at puppets.

When Clint comes to tell us we're about to go, we follow him downstairs. He leads us through the garage into a part where I've never been before. It's a huge underground hall with a lot of smaller planes, helicopters and quintjets. We step into an open one from which we can hear everyone else chatter. Tony and Steve already sit in their seats, ready to fly this thing.

I look around the inside. It's simple, just seats with belts on each side of the jet and a door that leads to a small bathroom. There's also a medical cabinet. I notice that I'm standing in the middle of the jet and quickly go to sit next to Wanda and fasten my seatbelt. Mom sits further up front and smiles at me, not quite able to hide the worry in her face though. I smile back and nod, assuring her I'm fine, which is true.

The deck closes and Steve checks verbally if everyone is buckled up.
"Such a dad." Tony murmurs and gets a glare from Steve.

Seconds later they start the engine and it gets a little louder as we start to hover off the ground. There aren't any windows where I sit but through the front window I can see that the ceiling apparently can open and we fly out of the hall. And here I thought I knew the compound pretty well.

When we're on our way, Thor gets up and hands out ear-pieces. A new wave of excitement rushes through my body as I get one as well. I place it inside my ear and make sure it's safe.

"This is a test, everyone who hears me shall raise both arms." Thor's voice is audible in my ear and I follow his request. I see everyone else doing it as well, Tony and Steve only raising one arm each.

Thor nods satisfied and sits down again. Everyone talks with one another and they all seem pretty calm. Sure, for them it's just another mission.
A hand on my knee catches my attention and I look over at Wanda who gives me a reassuring smile.

"Everything will work out. No one will get hurt badly and you're safe." She whispers, wanting to keep this between us, and kisses my cheek.

"Thank you but I'm fine, really." I answer softly, earning a raised eyebrow and her eyes darting to my leg. I follow her eyes and see it bouncing which I didn't notice before.

It's one of my habits when I'm nervous. Wanda's fingers trace tiny shapes on my leg and I concentrate on that, the nervousness slowly leaving my body. It's almost scary how well she can read me and how fast she can calm me down but I suppose it's also good, so she can help me to stay calm.

The rest of the flight is similar to the first half, everyone is talking and I overhear Thor telling some jokes.

This is okay, it's just a mission and as always, the good side will win. There's a short moment where Tony makes sure everyone knows what to do and we all agree.

A few minutes later, we land and I unbuckle my seatbelt and get up, following everyone out of the jet. Well, let the mission begin.

A/n: Next chapter will be the mission. Let's hope they will succeed ;D
