Pov Natasha

I stretch while I wait for y/n to join me on the running track outside.
It surprised me that she agreed to come running with me but I'm happy about it. She seems to feel better and was less tired this week. Still a little bit but it gets better, which soothes my worries and maybe it was just something shorty temporary.
She's been training with me over the past week and yesterday with Steve, being active seems to help with her tiredness and so does the fact that she spends a lot of time outside in the forest. I don't know what she does there but as long as she's happy and safe, I'm glad she enjoys the time.

I look at my sports watch and see that she's already half an hour late. Maybe she forgot to set her alarm? Or she's still at breakfast?
I go back into the compound and enter the kitchen after I took the elevator but there's no sign of y/n. I ask Tony, who's surprisingly already awake, if he saw her but he shakes his head.
She must be sleeping then, I conclude and go up to her room. After I knock, I wait a few seconds before I knock a second time but nothing happens, so I slowly open the door.

It's still a little dark in her room because the blinds are closed. I approach her bed to wake her up but she's not in it. My eyes dart to the bathroom door but it's cracked open and dark behind it. Where is she if not in her bed and not in her bathroom?
Worry starts to flood my body but I take a deep breath and calm myself down, maybe I missed her and she's somewhere downstairs.
Before I leave her room, I look around once more to make sure, I didn't miss anything. I spot her phone, laying on her nightstand and charging. That's weird, she usually has it with her but maybe she left it here, knowing we would go for a run.

Just to make sure, I check my own room. Maybe she needed something from me but she's not in there either. I make my way down to the kitchen again and look around, earning a confused look by Tony.
"I'm just looking for y/n. We were supposed to meet 40 minutes ago to go running." I explain and he nods.
"Maybe she's in the gym because she thought you meant training?" He suggests and I thank him for the idea before I head down there.
But it's empty and there's no sign of her. Worry builds up in me again, I don't know where my daughter is and it makes me nervous. She can't be far away, I just saw her yesterday. Or did someone break in and kidnaped her?

I start to panic a little but do my best to stay calm. It won't help me or her if I freak out now! And logically seen, it's impossible to break into the compound. Tony made it way too safe for that.
But what if not? What if something like the Red Room or anyone else who hates me, kidnaped her?
Imagining my baby in the hands of the enemy lets my throat tighten and I have to fight the images that come to my mind. She has to be somewhere here and healthy!
I wipe over my face and collect my thoughts.

She could have simply forgotten that we wanted to go for a run and gone into the forest. But this early?
My thoughts start to circle again and I quickly make my way up into the kitchen to find Tony and now Steve and Bruce. Their heads turn when I burst into the room.
"Is everything okay, Nat?" Steve asks and looks at me worried. I'm almost never upset and usually am calm so his reaction is understandable.
"No, I can't find y/n." I tell him and he looks a little confused.
"They wanted to go on a run together but y/n didn't show up and now Nat's freaking out a bit." Tony explains and I shoot him a glare that makes him shut up.

"It's not just that. I looked for her here, in her room, in mine, in the gym and she is nowhere to be found!" I state, my voice growing slightly louder at my upset mood.
"I'm sure she's somewhere here. Maybe you missed each other and she went down to meet you while you were looking for her." Bruce tries to reason and I nod. That might me possible.

Without a further word, I rush to the elevator and down stairs again. But there's also no sight of her. Just to be sure, I sprint around the compound but she's not running on the track.
Out of breath and even more panicked, I arrive back in the kitchen and when the men see me, their faces become serious as well.
"She's nowhere. What if something happened? What if she's hurt or kidnaped? Or even dead." I breathe out and feel tears building up in me. I can't lose her, she's my baby! I promised to protect her and to keep her safe.

Steve's hands on my shoulders pull me out of my panicked mind and he looks at me.
"We're gonna look for her. She can't be far. No one kidnaped her, Tony made this thing way too safe for someone to break in." He tries to calm me. I nod and take a deep breath.
"Friday, where is y/n?" Tony asks and I remember that this thing sees everything.
"Y/n is not within my reach." The mechanical voice answers and my heart drops. So she's not in the compound. Tony gets visibly nervous too now.

"No need to worry, it's not installed everywhere. S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't allow me to install it in their rooms so she might me there." He argues but it doesn't help much.
"Where does she like to spend her free time?" Steve asks and I think about it before I remember the forest.
"Okay, I'm gonna fly over it and scan for any sign of her." Tony decides. "Take coms with you so we can stay connected."

We follow his order and get coms so we can communicate. Steve is gonna check all the rooms on the S.H.I.E.L.D. ground, Bruce will check his lab and the gym while I check all the rooms and the kitchen floor again. We will find her.

With every minute that passes, I get more and more nervous and worried. What if she did get kidnapped and we're just wasting our time by searching every ounce of the compound? Or what if she ran away? But why would she?
We didn't have a fight or anything and she seemed really happy the past week. I search every room twice and after I looked around the kitchen once more, I go to the garage. She doesn't know how to drive yet but maybe she wanted to sit in a car...?

The com makes a noise and shortly after that I hear Tony's voice. "She's not in the forest near around the compound. I'm gonna search a wider area now."

It's hard to contain my emotions because I feel like breaking into tears, the worry about my baby eating me up inside.
Where could she be? Especially this early in the morning?

The next minutes are silent before I hear Bruce's voice. "I found her."
Relieve shoots through my body and I run towards the elevator.
"She's downstairs in the cell tract." He informs further. His hesitation worries me a bit and I remember that Wanda is down there.
A mix of anger and worry fills my body. I hope that little witch didn't do anything to her! I swear to God, if she hurt my daughter, she will regret it forever! No one touches my girl!

I meet Bruce in front of the door that leads to the cell and he looks at me weirdly.
"What is it, Banner? What's wrong? Is she okay?" I ask while pushing past him.
"She's okay, I think." He answers hesitantly.
I run down the hallway until I stop in front of Wanda's cell.
The sight takes my breath away for a few seconds before a bunch of emotions bubble up inside me.

Y/n is laying in bed with Wanda. Wanda's arms are loosely wrapped around my daughter's body and they are sleeping.
I narrow my eyes and slowly shake my head in disbelieve.

A/n: Well, we got busted and Nat doesn't seem happy. What do you think how's she going to react?
Also sorry for not updating yesterday, I had a very busy day.

Thanks for reading and love to you all <3
