Chapter 40: Jealousy

Wanda seems to get along great with Liv and Kelly which makes me pretty happy. It would have been difficult if they didn't get along.
Having her with me in school is great, I feel like I have a small bit of my home with me now. She also has a calming energy on me since I was nervous about going back to school. Even though no one knows what actually happened to me, I was still afraid someone would ask me about it.

Kelly and Liv let it go after I told them it was just mission related. The teachers also didn't ask which I'm thankful for. Wanda did good, she listened and took some notes during class. Whenever it was possible, she sat next to me but in one or two classes she had to sit a bit further away. My attention shifts to her quite often during class. I don't do it on purpose but it still kinda feels like a dream because I would never have thought that she would go to school with me. Not because she is dumb and wouldn't get it but because it's just a part of my routine of my 'normal' life. Up to now Wanda only was a part of my life as the daughter of an Avenger but now she's a part of my 'normal' life too and I love it.

During the first class she seemed a little distracted though but I'm sure she had her reasons and maybe just needed to adjust to the new situation.
When we walked through the hallways to the next class, she took my hand which I think was cute. And it also made me sure I wouldn't lose her in the groups of students.

In history class she had to sit in the row before me and I had trouble to not stare at her the whole time. I mean, who can blame me? I'm just admiring my girlfriend, even if it's just her backside.
One time she shortly turned around to me and we hold eye contact for a few seconds as if she wanted to make sure I'm still there and okay. It was pretty cute.

In the next break, we met up with Kelly and Liv again and talked about random stuff. It was fun and interesting to watch how they slowly all got to know each other better.
Wanda's laugh at Liv's joke was honest and she genuinely looked happy.
Her eyes shortly darted around the hallway and she wrapped an arm around my waist and hold me close to her. I don't know why she did it at that moment but I didn't mind, I like being close to her.

And it's not as weird as I first thought.
Some people looked at us but they didn't seem to have a problem with us. Wanda is my first girlfriend and relationship at all and I was a little worried people would make dumb comments. Not just homophobic ones but also because I am suddenly with someone. But no one did and that made me happy.

Liv and Kelly also seem really happy for me and to finally meet Wanda because they already assumed I was seeing someone. I caught Kelly smiling softly when Wanda pulled me closer, she was happy to see me in such a good mood with someone else.

The third period wasn't that interesting but my thoughts wandered off when I looked at Wanda who looks gorgeous as always. She was concentrating on something in front of her, probably the teacher or she was just concentrating.

Now it's lunch time and I pack my backpack while Wanda waits for me. Her eyes look at the other students packing up their stuff. I stand up and swing the backpack over my shoulder and smile at my girlfriend whose attention comes back to me. She smiles and pulls me towards her, giving me a kiss on the cheek and taking my hand.
I'm shortly surprised by the sudden affection but enjoy it and grin at her before leading her out of the room and to our cafeteria.

We get in line to buy our food and head to a free table with our treys.
Soon we're joined by Kelly and Liv and talk a bit about the lessons we were just in. They also ask about our relationship and how we got to know each other. Wanda and I look at each other and I can see the slight insecurity in her eyes. I give her a nod and start talking, telling them we meet at the compound and started hanging out.
