The elevator brings me back up and I step out to find my mom in the kitchen. She's making pasta and smiles when she sees me.
"How was your morning, malyschka?" She asks and looks up from her cooking.
I sit on a barstool across from her and watch as she stirs the sauce.
"It was interesting, I explored the compound. It's bigger than the tower. Is Friday installed on every floor?" I answer and then ask.
Mom seems a little confused by my question but thinks about it for a few seconds.
"I think so, yes. Tony said he connected the system to the whole building, except our rooms." She answers and gets lunch ready.
I watch in silence as she puts pasta and sauce on our plates and take mine to carry it over to the table. By the amount she made, I guess the others will join us in a bit.
We sit opposite of each other so chatting is easier.

"What rooms did you explore?" She asks interested and looks at me.
I start to tell her about my day and she nods along and comments on a few things. She smiles when I tell her how great it was to see all their suits and that I didn't know that I had access to that area. According to Tony it's a safety thing so I can go there in case I need something, mom tells me.
Since I didn't try out if my handprint would give me that access, I just accept it for now.

"Mom, why is there a girl locked up?" I ask and watch the startled expression on my mom's face.
She doesn't answer and I'm not sure if she knows what I'm talking about, maybe Tony didn't tell the others?
"The girl that fought with you against those robots in Sokovia. She is locked downstairs, on the same level as all of the suits are." I explain further.
Mom slowly nods and swallows her food.
"I know." She finally says and I look at her surprised.
"You know? So why is she down there?" I ask, wanting to get an answer.
"She's dangerous." Mom explains shortly.

I shake my head, I saw her and she didn't look dangerous to me. Sure, she was a little intimidating but that doesn't mean that she's dangerous. A lot of people would also find my mom or Thor or Tony intimidating but they aren't locked up.
"But she seems nice and also a little-" I start but get cut off by mom who looks at me with slightly narrowed eyes.
"Sorry to interrupt you, but did you talk to her?" She asks and I'm confused as to why she looks like I've done something horribly wrong.
"Yes, I was wondering why she was down there..." I explain my actions and watch mom take a deep breath and putting her fork down. She runs her hand through her hair and looks back at me. I can tell she is trying to stay calm right now.

"She is dangerous and I don't want you to talk to her again, okay? Not until we know what to do with her." She looks at me strictly and I know she wants me to agree but I don't see why. Wanda didn't seem dangerous, more like...alone and maybe a little bit sad.
"How old is she?" I ask, partly because I wanna know if they are scared of a teenager and partly for my own interest.
"That doesn't matter right now. Did you hear what I asked you? To not talk to her again?" She repeats and her eyes are focused on me.
"But mom, she-" I get interrupted by Tony and Steve who join us at the table and talk about some random stuff.

"We continue this talk later." Mom says before I can start again. Her eyes flicker to Tony shortly before she starts to eat again.
Why are they being so weird about it? They really seem to be scared of Wanda. But why? She can't be that scary and they are all heroes who fight bad guys all the time, so why are they scared of Wanda?
My thoughts keep racing through my mind while I silently eat and partly listen to Steve talking about something that Fury told them today.

After lunch mom motions me to follow her to the living room where we are alone.
"I didn't mean to sound harsh at dinner, I just want you to be safe. Okay?" She asks as we sit down.
"I get that but I don't see why Wanda is dangerous." I insist and mom sighs a little.
"Just trust me on this, dorogory." She says and tugs some hair behind my ear.
"Can you at least tell me why you all think she is dangerous?" Is it so hard to answer this question? Maybe I could understand her reasoning better if I would actually get an explanation.

She keeps quiet for a few seconds, thinking about what to answer.
"We're not sure she's on our side yet."
"But she fought with you, not against you." I remember her.
"That doesn't mean she's on our side. There is more than one side, you know." Mom answers vaguely.
"Let me talk to her so I can find out on which side she is." I suggest.
I'm not sure why I want to help this girl so eagerly but something about her just intrigues me.
"No! You won't talk to her again. I don't want you to get in trouble or hurt." Mom says firmly.

I huff annoyed and cross my arms, that doesn't seem fair.
"I'm sorry you don't like my decision but that's what it is. Do we have an understanding?"
I stare at the ground, not liking this at all.
"Y/n. I'm talking to you." Mom says and I look up to meet her eyes, that are waiting for a reaction. I slowly nod.
"Good, thank you." She smiles shortly before she gets up and tells me she will be training downstairs and I can join if I want to.

I nod as a sign I heard her and she heads out of the room.
It doesn't seem fair, I only want a reasonable answer as to why they all think Wanda is dangerous. I mean, I'm aware that there is more than one side but talking to her might really help. Maybe to find out on which side she is or if she is like a lost puppy. Locking her up can't be the answer and she seems so lonely.

I decide to visit her again. I am aware that mom told me not to and in some way forbid it but I really wanna know what's the deal with her. And maybe I want to know more about her.
My mind goes to her and I see her wonderful green eyes in front of me. She has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen and I get the sudden urge to go down and gaze into them. But that's not possible because I'm sure mom would notice I am nowhere to be found. Maybe I can go at night, hoping Wanda is still awake by then.

I choose to join my mom in the gym to get the afternoon over. Steve is there and he shows me some punches and I catch my mom watching us with a smile on her face.
I often show interest in her missions but not so often in working out. Sometimes I feel like doing it and I think she is proud of me when she sees me training.
She comes over after an hour to hand me a water bottle that I chuck down, thirsty from the training.

"How about we try the new shooting range?" She offers and I look at her in surprise. I always thought I wasn't allowed to use it. Maybe she wants to even out our discussion from earlier? Well, doesn't matter what got her to allow it, the only thing that matters is that she did.
I follow her to the room and look at all the weapons on the walls.
When my eyes scan over the guns I start to feel a little uneasy and remember the night after the party. Maybe I try the knives first.
But as I approach them, mom stops me.
"You're not going to throw knives."

I look at her confused but understand when she points to the bow and arrows. She wants me to train my archery. That's fine by me, I like it, it's fun.
I take the bow and the arrows and go to stand at the right spot. Mom asks me if I know what I am doing or if she should call Clint. I tell her I am good but the worried look on her face stays and I realize she never saw me using a bow, she doesn't know that I practiced while she was on her mission. Then this might surprise her.

I get into position and aim the goal. It's the closest one and I know I will hit.
And I do. It's not bullseye but close to the middle.
A proud smirk creeps onto my lips and I turn to look at my mom. She looks surprised but also a bit proud and nods for me to go on.
I shoot some more arrows until I'm out and go get them back.

Time flies by and after what feels like maximum an hour, mom tells me to come to an end because it's dinner time. I put everything back and when I look at the clock, I see we've been practicing for almost three hours. But it was fun and I even hit the middle a few times.
On our to the kitchen, I tell her how I practiced at Clint's and Laura's and she looks at me with a smile.

Dinner is fun because Thor tells a story that's really entertaining and after we're all done, I say goodnight to mom and go to the bathroom for a quick wash.
Now I just have to find the right time to sneak down to Wanda.

A/n: Nat doesn't like us hanging around with Wanda but that doesn't stop us. What do you think will happen next?
