Chapter 35

***Khensani's POV

So today was the finishing of my ceremony. It was late at night and I was going to be bathed in the Kraal with some herbs and a goat's bile(intelezi nenyongo) , mom was going to be accompanying me. As we reached the Kraal , the Royal Healer stopped momma from entering with me. I followed  him inside the Kraal to the far end.

Royal Healer : "Are you scared of cows?"

Me : "Yes , I'm not used to them."

Royal Healer : "Don't worry these ones won't hurt you." I nod. He starts chanting something while pouring me with water.

When we walked back , mom was still standing in the same place we left her in. She makes us cups of coffee. I get another text from Lethu *The war has begun* I show mom the text and she's also confused.

In the middle of the night , I'm woken up by this sudden itch. I'm now sitting on my butt with no clothes on, scratching myself.

Mom : "Kodwa! Qondi what's the matter?" I ignore her and continue scratching myself. She turns on the lights , she screams when she looks at me.

Mom : "Baby your skin is peeling off."  I'm crying at this point. She runs off to call dad.

Dad : "Yini Qondi?"  I can hear them speak but I just can't respond to them when I'm in so much pain plus the itching.

Mom : "Sakhe , she won't talk. Do something."

Dad : "Okay try to get the car keys while I carry her."  She nods sobbing. Dad holds me down , pinning my hands on my sides. I scream and kick because the pain worsens when I'm not scratching myself. He covers me with a robe that was in the room and my body starts feeling hot like it's burning.

Dad : "She's getting cold baby." He puts me in the backseat , even my twin brother is next to me now , he's crying with me.

Yanga : "Mama , she's getting ice cold." The car gets warm so I assume they just turned the heater on. Now how do I tell them that I'm actually feeling hot. Momma's phone rings.

Momma : "It's MaDlamini." I close my eyes as I hear mom speak on the phone.

Dad : "Uthini?"

Mom : "Her son said we wasting time if we go to the hospital because we will loose her , we have to turn back."

Dad : "This is my daughter's life!"

Mom : "Sakhe , you failed me and my kids again , I'm leaving with my kids tomorrow. I am sick and tired of this."

Dad : "Sengenzeni?"

Mom : "Your stupid seer did this to my child! He was the one who bathed her. He didn't even want to let me be there so trust me that says alot on it's own."  I start feeling drowsy so I sleep.

***Lethukuthula's pov

Mnqobi and his girlfriend are about to go through some crazy shit and some of those things , I won't be there nor be able to help them.

Anyway , dad and I were on our way to Mnqobi's place , when we got there dad didn't even park on the right parking , we ran up and he kicked the door down since it was locked. We found Thandeka gathering her things so I guess she was about to start.

Dad : "Ya , what do you think you doing? Huh? Enganeni kabani? Mine? My child ntombazane? Do you know me? Do you know who I am?" 

Thandeka : "uhm...I have to go"  she tries to run out but dad gets to her first. Someone enters and it's Moyomuhle's father.

Dad : "Zalo , please take my son to hospital fast."  I go with uncle Bonginkosi.

---FEW HOURS LATER---

Dad had arrived 2 hours ago with his wife. The doctor walks towards us , we all stand.

Mom : "Doc. How's my son?"

Doc : "You will have to keep on praying , I'm afraid it's not looking good at all. We found poison in his body which was detected as Arsenic."  Dad curses.

Mom : "Please explain."

Doc : "Arsenic , is a natural metalloid chemical that may be present in groundwater. Ingestion only poses health problems if a dangerous amount of arsenic enters the body. Then , it can lead to cancer , liver disease , coma & death. Treatment involves bowel irrigation , medication and chelation therapy. In other cases victims show symptoms first , which are vomiting , abdominal cramping & diarrhoea followed by death from shock. In your case , your son is in coma and chances are zero to null for him to survive."  He nods then walks away. BabuNkomo must have a way to cure Mnqobi so we'll just have to wait for him to be back.
