** Imagine that Ricky lives in a small apartment like this in Utah except less modern and more contemporary. Sorry I couldn't find a good pic of what I was describing. Just a two bedroom apartment.

Ricky's POV:

As soon as I got out of that very awkward detention classroom with my crush, E.J Caswell and those 3 other random students, I skated home by myself and came home and saw my Aunt May on the phone in the kitchen. Then I forced myself to research ways to get this red nail polish off of my nails so that I don't get detention again tomorrow.

Although, I think that this nail polish rule and student handbook thing is ridiculous.

Nini can wear any color nail polish that she wants to school but I can't.

It's absurd that the principal called me out for it.

I was just showing school spirit and it's also showing my spirit for lacrosse season.

All have I had to get the nail polish off was  toothpaste and an old brush from my bathroom I found some lady on youtube who was saying that it works to get this stupid stuff off nails easily if you don't have nail polish remover.

It surprisingly worked though, all of the nail polish is off of my nails now.

And I didn't even need to contact my mother for help with this stupid nail polish  situation.

I don't really text her anymore anyways. She's not my favorite person in the world right now.

She got remarried to my step-dad Todd, over winter break.

Gosh, I hate the principal so much. I just wish that I could wear red nail polish to school.

I painted my nails with clear nail polish last fall and it wasn't a problem and now that I'm using colored nail polish it's big problem according to the principal and this anonymous student who tattled on me.

Life is unfair, guys should be able to wear nail polish to school.

Now I'm here sitting at the dining room table with my Aunt who I haven't seen since I was 12  with my hands shoved in my hoodie pockets, just staring at my chicken casserole and string beans.

"Aunt May, can I please go to my room and finish my dinner?" I finally look up and glance at her face since I've been staring at my plate the entire time thinking about what happened with E.J in detention today/

"Ok, but don't forget to bring your dish down when you are done sweetie," I have to stare at her real good before picking up my dinner plate and glass of water to finish in my bedroom

Before I walk to my room that is located in the back hallway of my dad and I's small apartment, I get the feeling that my Aunt May is gonna be lonely by herself at the table so I mumble a quick 'thanks' to her since she's letting me finish my dinner in my bedroom.

I'll bring the dish back when I get time.

I'm waiting for E.J to text back anyway and I need to finish dinner at my desk

After staring at my phone for 25 minutes while scarfing down the rest of the chicken casserole down that Aunt May made; I head back to the kitchen and place my dish in the sink and can't help but notice that she's sitting at the dining room table reading a book.

"Hey, Aunt May. Thanks for the casserole. It was really good," I peak over to take a look at the book that she's reading and notice that it's a Dating for Dummies book.
