„For every choice
there is an echo
with each act we change the world."

Before Serena knew it, the last day of her holiday had come to an end and she had to say goodbye to her new home for the time being and return to her second home, Hogwarts, which she was no less looking forward to.

Nevertheless, on the morning of the first of September, she struggled to leave her warm and soft bed and make her way downstairs to the dining table. There, Mrs Weasley had already stacked numerous pieces of buttered toast, accompanied by various spreads in small white bowls.

Serena opted for the sticky homemade strawberry jam. Remus and her father were already seated, but both seemed to have barely touched any of their breakfast. Remus was merely sipping his black tea and reading the Daily Prophet, while his friend from marauder's days was actually engrossed in a thick book.

Serena sat down next to the latter and tried to catch a glimpse of the rather old-looking book. The pages were already yellowed and the rust-brown cover worn. Nevertheless, it still looked quite pretty with the gilded elements. "Found anything yet?"

The writing on the faded pages had apparently captivated him so much that he startled at the sound of her voice, which was why his words astonished Serena all the more. "What, no... No, not yet."

The Gryffindor furrowed her brow and stretched her neck in vain to catch something of the title or even something of the page that was seemingly so captivating, but there the book was already closed and lying backside up on the dark wooden table. Fine, don't, then, Serena thought grimly and began to carefully pull a slice of toast from the rather tall tower of buttered white bread she was finally nibbling on, lost in thought. It was a mystery to her how Mrs Weasley managed to stack them up so neatly that they didn't simply topple to the side.

Gradually, her sleepy friends began to arrive in the drawing room. Mr Weasley and Percy had already left for the Ministry, as there had apparently been an emergency surrounding one of their Aurors. This one had such a strange name that Serena wasn't sure for the life of her that she hadn't simply misheard it. But she hadn't kept the name anyway.

Mrs Weasley had then dared to use a real Muggle telephone and ordered three ordinary Muggle taxis to take the students to London. Serena didn't even want to know how expensive this trip would be. But from what it sounded like after the loud discussion with the mother of seven, her father had probably picked up the bill.

When the taxi drivers finally turned up in the driveway of Crystal Cottage, they looked anything but thrilled to be transporting a couple of teenagers along with over-excited owls and cats. In fact, the whole journey was quite uncomfortable with suitcases crammed into every available crack and the stuffy hot air inside the vehicles. Serena had never been happier to finally reach King's Cross station.
