Scrubbing The Spies

As I went outside still in my pajamas, seeing that they were all still doing their chores

As I looked around I heard norman calling me over as he shouted "Harley!"

I went over to where he was, doing the laundry with ray

"Sup guys! What cha need from little old me?" I asked with a smile as my hands were behind my back

"What did you and mama talk about?" ray asked, cutting straight to the chase

"Just the normal stuff but mainly about why ray was crying." I explained

"Ray cried?" norman said looking shocked at me

"It was nothing." ray immediately answered with a faint blush on his face

I sighed and instead of doing something that will embarrass him, I just let it go and went on with my day. Walking towards the forest

Until...

"Where do you think you're going? You still need to help us with the laundry!" ray exclaimed

Suddenly a red tick mark appeared on my head, as I was seething in anger and was clenching my fist into a ball

I took a deep breath and thought to myself "At least it isn't doing the dishes, plus norman and ray will be helping you out as well."

I turned around and went back to where the two oldest boys were and sat next to them, rolling up my sleeves and tying my hair back then started helping out

Not long after, I felt ray was looking at me. I looked away from the task at hand then suddenly stared at ray's soul window

As I see him looked away from me instantly making me think that I might tell norman his secret

I sighed and nudged norman getting his undivided attention

"So... Which rope was gone?" I asked looking back at the task at hand which was scrubbing

There was a quiet pause then he said "Gilda is clean..."

"So it's don?" I asked, as I got the feeling of ray thinking that I am a good actress

"I haven't checked it yet. Later tonight I'll see if it's still there." he said making me nod

"Hey ray... Why do you think spies do their job?" norman asked

"Well isn't it obvious? Becaus-"

I sighed losing interest in their conversation as I hummed comedy while singing it in my head

I was enjoying the song until I saw a hand in front of my face then snap, knocking me out of my world

I looked over and saw ray with his usual poker face

I looked at him and asked  "What do you want?"

He didnt say anything but pointed to somewhere instead

I looked at what he was pointing and saw norman smiling

"What?" I asked him

"You didn't listen to our conversation did you, harley?" he asked

"So..." I said putting my focus back on scrubbing

Norman sighed then shook his head with a smile and said "To summarize what we talked about is what are the motives of the spy."

"Is it already obvious? The motives of the spy is that they snitch on us to mama so that he or she can get to live longer." I explained

"So you were listening?" ray asked trying to confirm it

"No... It's just common sense and yes I was listening, just bits of it." I said as I scrubbed away

Norman just giggled while ray just shakes his head as he sighed

As we finished cleaning up the cafeteria, don and gilda went ahead first while norman told ray to go ahead first, leaving norman, emma and I behind

Emma and I took  a seat while norman just stood there at the edge looking at us both seriously

"Emma... Harley... I'd like to your opinions on something... What would you do to the spy knowing full well that he or she did it on their own will to save themselves from getting shipped out? Will you save them or leave them behind?" norman asked with a sad look on his face

"I'll take them with us." emma answered

"Imma knock them out and drag their butt with us!" I answered as well

The shocked look on norman's face made us both realized that that wasnt the answer he was expecting

"Even if they dont want to come with us?!" he asked again

"Like I said, Imma knock them out then drag their butt with us." I said

"Well... I'm not gonna knock them out but I will drag them with us. And besides if we run away there's no guarantee that their life will be spared." emma explained

"That's all I needed to hear!" norman said with a smile then looked at emma and asked "Emma? Can you leave me and harley to talk in private?"

Emma just smiled and nodded her head leaving us both alone

I looked at her retreating figure as she closed the door behind her. I sighed and said "It's ray, isn't it?" still looking at the door

I could feel his surprised face looking at me from behind

I turned around, making eye contact as I gave him a sad smile

"So you know? I should have known, you knew about it already." he said with a smile

"You gonna interrogate or something?" I asked

"Yeah." he said

"Go easy on him norman." I said

"Why should I?" he asked

"Because I believed he did this all for us." I said

"What do you mean?" he looked at me, all curiously

I gave a dramatic pause looking at my feet as if it was interesting then looked back into his eyes and said "You shouldn't keep our emo king waiting norman. Trust me."

He smiled and nodded his head, leaving me all alone by myself waiting for them to come back here again to talk about what they found

As I glanced to the side knowing that sister krone just arrived to take a sneak peek about either me or just waiting there for the conversation we are about to have

I sighed, went to get a glass of milk and sat back down

And looking like a boss, sitting all smug looking with milk in hand as I thought out loud "Going to be still in my pajamas and havent even took a bath yet... I'm gangster as fudge. Hehe." as I took a sip of my milk, waiting for them to finish on what their doing
