Although the room was pitch black, it wouldn't take a genius to see the tear stained face of Yeseul, as her head rested against the satin pillow case that was absorbing each tear that fell one by one. Jaemin on the other hand slept at peace, his head resting on the same pillow, legs tangled with hers as his fingers laid softly on her hip. He was completely oblivious to it all, unaware of how much pain and torment she was in.

'He'll never understand how I feel'

She thought as she tried to wipe her tears away, slowly taking his hand off her hip as she got out of the bed, each movement slow, afraid to wake him up to see her like this. Her feet treaded lightly out of her bedroom. It was still early in the evening, Jaemin had come over late afternoon and they had eventually fallen asleep on her bed while she attempted to comfort him.

She wiped her tears with the sleeve of Jeno's hoodie as she walked to the living room, the only source of light from the long and dark hallway. She saw Jeyi, Jungwoo and Jisung cuddled up on the sofa, watching a rom com drama that had aired today

"I'm pretty sure your guys' apartment comes with a TV too" she said, cracking a joke yet her voice gave up on her, cracking slightly making Jungwoo turn his head to her immediately. Jeyi and Jisung remained too focus on the TV to notice anything.

"Come here" Jungwoo whispered, signalling her over, distancing himself from Jeyi fo a few moments so he could embrace Yeseul who looked like she needed a caring person more than ever.

"Is it him again?" Jungwoo asked with a sigh, angry that the guy she couldn't help but love was making her sad at the same time and she nodded.

"I don't know how many times I need to get hurt before I learn my lesson" she said, leading her head onto his shoulder as she hugged her knees close to her chest

"He said he'll change but...next bad thing that happens he'll push me away again" She said and he hummed in response

"Should I give him another chance? He said he'll do better...I don't know whether I should trust his words or just live a life without him...if i even know how to do that" she said with a dry chuckle

"Give him a chance" Jisung said, turning around to the two, the conversation now catching Jeyi's attention too as she turned off the TV

"It's obvious when someone isn't trying... you'll know then" Jisung said and Yeseul smiled softly

"He's right...you won't lose anything. You need to learn to trust peop-"

"Look where its got me so far" Yeseul scoffed

"Just hold on a little bit longer, I'm sure this isn't easy for him either" Jeyi said

"I thought you were the one who specifically told me he wasn't worth it" Yeseul said

"You said I should just date Jeno instead" she chuckled through her tears

"He's always been there for you...as a friend though. He's told you that he's not good at relationships and he's never pushed his boundaries...with Jaemin its just too on and off. Maybe one day your rhythms will align and your song will be the most beautiful one this world's ever heard....you need to have some hope in him for that to happen" Jeyi said

"That was so cringe" Jisung shuddered

"One day your rhythms will align" Jungwoo mocked using a high pitched voice making the four burst out laughing

"I hate you guys" she said annoyed

"Yeseul" a small voice was heard from the hallway a few seconds later and Yeseul hoped that Jaemin hadn't heard the previous conversation

"Yeah?" She asked turning to him and his eyes softened at her features, his hair standing up in positions that have never been seen before, being woken up from mid sleep.

"Are you crying?" He asked, his voice turning concerned

"Yeah my...goldfish die- what do you need?" She asked walking over to him

"Let's talk in your room" he said, before waving a Jeyi and Jungwoo shortly before turning around

"What's up" she asked as she closed her bedroom door behind the both of them

"Youngmi got her results back...it's not my kid" he said with a relieved sigh and she smiled back a little bit, not fully knowing what to say.

"Is something wrong?" Jaemin asked, quick to catch on to the shifts in her mood. She bit her lower lip in hesitation. He slowly tugged on her hand, bringing her closer to him as he sat at the edge of the bed looking up at her.

"I know I hurt you...if i could go back in time i would, but I can't...and I'm really..really fucking sorry" he apologised, looking at her genuinely

"can we go back to my place, i'll try my best to make it up to you" he pleaded and she sighed

"i don't know if that's possible but...sure" she said, giving in, letting him have the chance like Jeyi said. after all, she didn't have much to lose. Yeseul and Jaemin soon bid the others good bye, Jeyi giving a concerned glance to Yeseul before she smiled, signalling that she was taking her advice and two were soon in Jaemin's car, on their way to his house.
