"Ugh...this is so fucking tight" Yeseul mumbled as she tried to slip off the fifth dress she had put on. The first one made her look fat, the second one made her look pregnant, the third one made her look like a peach, the fourth one made her look like an asparagus, and the fifth one was too tight.

But in Jaemin's eyes all he could see from the corner of his eyes apart from the constant thrashing and flinging off attire, she was the most beautiful gem in the world.

"Baby...why don't you just wear something more comfy?" He asked with a small pout as he watched her scramble through clothes that the staff had brought her to find something appropriate, something her parents would like, something her father would be okay with.

"Because my parent's are going to be so disappointed if i just show up there with mediocre clothes they think are garbage!" She shouted and he winced slightly

"Are you trying to impress them?" He asked and she sighed

"Of course not, I don't need their validation" She huffed

"Baby just listen to yourself right now... why are you trying so hard to be someone you're not just for them?" He asked, getting up from the bed to pull her towards his lap

"I guess I'm just...scared of disappointing him...again. I'm scared to look into those empty brown eyes to see nothing but my own reflection, no emotion, no love, just disappointment, anger...almost as if he wish i never existed" She said and Jaemin smiled a small smile, of course he didn't experience what she had went through all her life but he didn't want to be useless and not help her through it

"Look into my eyes, what do you see?" He asked with a small pout as he stared into her eyes

"Love, you care for me...you look at me as if I'm the most important person in the world to you" she mumbled

"Exactly, and you are. So if you ever feel that you're not good enough, just look into my eyes. Any time you're uncomfortable or they make you feel bad just look into my eyes" he said sweetly and she swore her heart almost swelled up too much in her chest

"And if you ever want to leave, if you ever realise that you don't feel ready, just say the word and we'll leave straight away" He said sternly and she nodded slowly

"You can do this, i believe in you" he said and she smiled, reaching down to kiss his lips.

Jaemin's grandfather had closed a deal of a merger in Jaemin's name and Yeseul's father had done the same in Chenle's name. Jaemin thought it would be a good idea for Yeseul to attend the dinner at her parent's house to fix any unresolved issues before they officially continued with their businesses. And sure it was a sweet idea at first, Jaemin never had his parents there for him most of his life and he knew how much he regrets that, he didn't want Yeseul to have the same thing as him.

Yet only Yeseul knew the horrors of her past, being completely shunned and amounted to nothing as her mother slowly passed away, not being given any powers in the house simply because she was just a girl that knew no better. She was put down all her life only to build herself back up. Was it really the right move to face that past again?

"Does this look okay?" She asked as she stepped out in jeans and a blazer

Jaemin smiled as he saw her wearing something a lot more comfier and her style as well, no matter how much she was going to be his girlfriend to the public, he loved her for her, he didn't want to change the person he fell for simply because his w...

Jaemin smiled as he saw her wearing something a lot more comfier and her style as well, no matter how much she was going to be his girlfriend to the public, he loved her for her, he didn't want to change the person he fell for simply because his world was different.

"How do you feel now?" He asked as he held out his hands to grab hers

"Sick all of a sudden" she mumbled and he pouted

"You sure you want to do this?" Jaemin asked, with care yet warily

"...i think..i need to do this" She said with a more definitive answer, after all, it was her past that always held her back. She had Jaemin with her, through everything and anything, she would be fine.

"The car is outside" he said with a smile and the two soon walked out of the room and towards the lobby where the car awaited them.

"I didn't know you were from the Zhong family, my apologies for how I treated you" Jaemin's grandfather said as he landed his eyes on Yeseul and she awkwardly bowed towards him in respect

"Actually...regardless of your family name...I shouldn't have treated you like that since the beginning" he said and a more relieved smile fell on Yeseul's lips as she bowed again

"Thank you for taking care of him all this time, it really helps to know he's in good hands" he said and she smiled

"If anything, he's been the one taking care of me" She chuckled and the old man's eyes fell on the shiny emerald jewel ring on her finger and she caught his gaze

"Your wife gave it to me...i hope you don't mind-"

"It suits you, you wear it well" he smiled, almost a guilty smile and his eyes were hiding something that she just couldn't put her finger on, het she decided to wash her worries away, having much bigger things to worry about at that moment.

The three stepped into the black car, Yeseul and Jaemin in the backseat as they cuddled with each other, scrolling their own phones while still being tied together.

"We should have a safe word" Jaemin suggested and she looked up at him

"Like if your family says something that makes you uncomfortable then just say this word and I'll change the subject straight sway" Jaemin said

"That's too obvious, how about if i cough three times then thats the signal" She said and he nodded. The rest of the car ride was short and silent as the two carried on reading emails and checking messages

"Wait...holy shit you used to live here??!" Jaemin asked as his jaw dropped on the large mansion infront of him

"Unfortunately" she sighed as she exited the car, standing beside him and looking on towards the house that held so many memories, both good and bad, but all she could remember right now were the bad ones.

"Hey, i meant what i said today. If you want to leave just let me know" Jaemin said as he caught onto the small frown on her lips and she pursed her lips and modded her head, taking his words into consideration.

"Ready?" Jaemin's grandfather asked as his hand approached the doorbell

"As I'll ever be" she breathed out, Jaemin's grip on her hand only tightening to stop her from fiddling as the doorbell rung around the big house, echoing through the unused rooms and large walls.

It all felt so new to her, and so nostalgic at the same time.
