Imagine being married to Elijah and the third Salvatore sibling, and traveling to Mystic Falls after hearing your mother was back

Mystic Falls was great. It was, sure, and your friends and family were there too. Elena, Jeremy, Bonnie, Caroline, all those people, and of course, your brothers Damon and Stefan. But with the newest threat, Kai in town, you decided you and your new family had to move away. You, your wonderful amazing husband Elijah and the most recent addition to the family - your daughter, moved all to New Orleans. Perhaps it wasn't the safest place either, but it had been a while since Elijah spent time with his family and Klaus was now a father as well so your daughter was immediately introduced to another little girl.

You were truly happy in New Orleans, but of course you missed Mystic Falls. You talked to Damon and Stefan nearly every day, but on one day, the news Damon always filled you in with were different from what you had expected to hear. Your mother, Lily Salvatore, had returned from a prison world of 1903 where she was apparently stuck. And she and Damon were going to trick Stefan into turning his humanity back on, since Caroline had forced him to turn it off recently.

Hearing those news were a lot for you to handle. You always loved your mother but you couldn't help but feel like she abandoned you now that she was indeed alive, not dead. You had even partly named your and Elijah's daughter after her - Amelia-Lily. The news made you cry for at least two days, which was enough for you to solve your feelings and you ended up making a trip to Mystic Falls with Elijah and your child.

You went where Damon had informed them all three to be. You grabbed Elijah's hand nervously and entered the karaoke bar where Stefan was, tears falling from his eyes and hugging your mother. It was obvious that the old Stefan you loved was back, and it made you very happy, but all you could concentrate on currently was your mother. Standing there, with Stefan, and Damon standing a little further away. 

Stefan broke into a smile. "Hi Y/N. Long time no see", he greeted you and Damon noticed you as well, weakly smiling. Lily turned around to see who they were looking at, and she gasped and covered her mouth with her hand when she saw you, with a handsome man holding your hand and a little girl standing next to him. You let go of Elijah, and he took your daughter to his arms and held her while you walked to Lily and hugged her tightly. 

"I've missed you", Lily whispered to you, making you smile as you cried. You responded the same way, and mouthed a heartfelt thank you to Damon as you held your mother just like she held you. It was a soft embrace, a loving one, but not a hug like the ones Elijah often gave you. It was motherly - a hug that you had missed dearly.

You and Lily caught up on things, you told everything including your wedding with Elijah, and how you gave birth to the beautiful baby girl you named after Lily herself. It made her cry, and when it was her turn to tell about her time away from her children, you noticed how she had found happiness in other people. To you, Lily seemed a bit odd, but you couldn't help but blame it on the years she had to spend almost alone in 1903. She had scars in her heart, but to you they seemed like battle scars, like the ones you had yourself as well. Being a vampire wasn't always a cake walk. 

After a lovely day with your brothers and mother, you and Elijah returned to New Orleans with Amelia-Lily where he suggested you three move back to Mystic Falls. In a moment of joy, you couldn't do anything but accept the offer and kiss him in pure bliss, happy to be reunited with your family once again.
