Imagine Damon being with you through your time in hospital where you have to be after an accident

"I brought coffee!", you could hear Damon chirping from the doorway where he pushed into the room. You tilted your head to the side and put on a weak light smile, while holding out your hand for the steaming cup of coffee Damon brought you. 

It was your second day in the local hospital, recovering from the injuries you got after a car accident. It was a pure, all-human accident, with you and Matt in the car and another resident of Mystic Falls driving into it with his own car. You were willing to forgive him, these kind of small natural accidents and happenings were what you missed, with most of your friends as vampires, werewolves, hybrids, witches, doppelgängers, hunters and what not. It was crazy, but when you were in that accident, you got a taste of normal life and wanted to keep it that way.

So you didn't want Damon's blood either. You wanted to recover like a normal human being which you were, mostly, as normal as you could with the most important person in your life being a vampire. You smiled at Damon, who returned it to you, and stared at you as you sipped on the coffee carefully.

If he couldn't heal you with his blood, he was going to be there with you through your time in the hospital. He had told you stories, most of them over-exaggerated and hard to believe, but in a town like Mystic Falls, you sometimes had to take a step back and realize that even things you had thought were fairytales, were real. Besides telling you stories about his life and what not, he cuddled you to sleep, brought you lunch, listened to some music with you and watched movies from the lousy television in the room. He wanted you to be as happy as possible, even if you had to stay in a miserable hospital for days.

"You know, if you want my blood, just say so and I'll give you some. I promise to only call you a coward for some months and then I'll drop it", Damon teased you with his usual smirk and you scoffed, but with a smile. 

"I don't. This is the most human experience I've had in forever, even though I am human. I need to heal on my own, let my body do it's own magic. I don't need yours", you replied with a sigh and put the cup of coffee on the table next to your bed. You slid down on the mattress and let your eyes glance at the television but after finding no interest in watching the news, you turned back to Damon who raised an eyebrow.

"Are you sure about that? My body is pretty magical", he said with a wink, making you roll your eyes. You didn't answer, though, you just kept your eyes fixated on his and exhanged smiles with him. His smiles were crooked and cheeky, while yours, well they were genuine and grateful. He just didn't seem to find it himself, not right now at least. You knew what a good guy he could be if he wanted to, though. For you, and to you, he was always good. 

"Hey, Damon... Thanks. For being here. This would be nightmarish without someone here with me", you said, full of gratitude. Damon grinned, and got up from the chair he was sitting on. With slow steps, he approached you, and sat down on the bed where you were as well.

"Hey, anything for you, okay? And besides, what was I supposed to do? Leave you in The Quarterback's hands?", he asked, earning a chuckle from you. Matt was in that accident with you, and he was driving, so he felt kind of guilty, especially when he got no injuries like you did. He survived it miraculously and even though he wasn't the one who caused the accident, he wanted to make it up to you but Damon had come to you before him and insisted on him leaving.

You looked into Damon's eyes with fondness, and when you had sat there with his hand on your cheek and his body leaning closer to you for enough, he came to the bed with you, spooning you as he turned the volume of the television up.

"Now let's watch some reality shows!", Damon suggested and placed a light quick kiss to your cheek while snaking an arm around your waist.

Yeah, there was no one else you would have rather been with.
