Imagine being the reason Stefan flips his humanity switch back on

Months of Stefan going on a killer binge, endless kills and lunches in Mystic Falls, leaving people headless and ripped apart, covered in blood. The ripper Stefan was something you felt attracted to, but you knew that the more he would do it, the more it would hurt to turn his humanity back on. The sadness would consume him, it would swallow him up whole and leave him as a wreck for another series of months. You didn't want to lose Stefan, and that was why you, Damon and a bunch of other people tried to get his emotions back. The old good Stefan back.

Because as much as the emotionless him claimed, this wasn't him. He was loving, caring, sweet and a kind person, not a killer. It was the darker side of him, the side that wasn't there originally or usually. Stefan Salvatore was a lot different, and you missed him.

You had fallen into desperation, honestly. You and Stefan were locked in a diner, and this wasn't a part of the plan you and Damon had plotted. He was supposed to be there, but you were alone - just you and Stefan, and you were putting your own life in danger just to see how serious Stefan was about this humanity-off-thing.

"I'll do it, Stefan", you threatened, while bringing the piece of glass closer to your neck. He was all you cared about, really, he was the one who made you so happy and bubbly and if he'd be gone, so would you. So if he wasn't coming back, why not end it all right here, right now?

The whole idea was to scare Stefan to the edge, where he'd realize he loved you too much to let you die, but if he wouldn't, then you'd just get it over with. At least something would be done.

"I doubt it, Y/N", Stefan said, trying to seem brave and confident but his voice cracked and the concern in his eyes was evident. You knew he was almost there, he was slowly falling back together, the pieces of his humanity and feelings attracting each other like a magnet and soon, it would be whole and your boyfriend would be back to normal.

"I don't", you said, and swallowed loudly before pressing the sharp glass into your neck, and creating a wound as you dragged it along the skin. You started to bleed, and even though the cut wasn't the deepest possible - yet - you felt yourself suffocating and hurting and falling into darkness, but you kept yourself on the line of conscious and unconscious.

You saw Stefan's eyes, you knew that he was almost flipping, and to get him there, help him there, you stuck the piece into your flesh. You started to cough and you fell to the floor, but it was luckily, enough. Stefan closed his eyes, and opened them, and as he did so, he returned to his own good self. He sprinted to you, and while crying desperately, he bit his wrist and fed you his blood.

"Y/N, please don't go. I'm so sorry, Y/N, this is all my fault...", Stefan cried while giving you as much blood as you needed to be healed. He pulled the piece of glass from your neck, causing you to bite on his wrist hard to pour out the pain into something. He smiled weakly, knowing that you were slowly healing was something he felt happy about.

"Stefan...", you called out, but he stopped you from talking by pressing his lips onto yours.

"You're such an idiot, Y/N. I can't believe you stabbed yourself to get me back", he chuckled and held his forehead against yours. You smiled, and held him just like he held you, on the floor where your blood was as well. Stefan smiled as well, and you kissed the tip of his nose softly.

"Anything for you, Stefan. You know I love you", you mumbled.

It was only the beginning of all of his sadness and sorrows flooding in, but as long as you were well and standing by his side, he got through anything.
