Imagine getting married with Damon but on the wedding day he leaves you for someone else

After one wonderful year, your magical day had finally arrived. The day you knew would be the best of all. Your wedding day. And you were marrying the best person you knew, Damon - he wasn't only your lover, he was your best friend too and you two really connected on a special level. Or so you thought. You were soon proven wrong.

You stood in front of a mirror, and looked at yourself happily with Elena, Caroline and Bonnie on your sides. You were really satisfied with your absolutely incredible gown, your gorgeous hair, and stunning make-up, and awesome shoes and flowers and what not. You were looking like an angel, you were very beautiful and the others clearly agreed since they had to wipe tears from their eyes.

"You look amazing, Y/N. I can't believe you and Damon are a married couple soon! I'm so proud of you", Elena spoke and pulled you into a hug. You smiled and answered to the hug, taking it all in. You definitely needed comfort, because even though you were excited, you were also nervous and constantly biting your nails, thinking something would go wrong. 

"Now, come on, it's time to go", Caroline said and gave you a prep talk before pushing you to the aisle, where Stefan was waiting for you. Your father wasn't capable of coming to the wedding, sadly, so Stefan offered to walk you down to Damon. But as you linked arms with him, and looked forward, ready to walk to your soon-to-be-husband, he wasn't there. 

You gave Stefan a look, but he was just as puzzled and confused as you were. Thinking that it was all part of it, you nodded to Stefan, who shrugged and started to walk you towards the front where the priest stood, waiting for you and Damon. You believed that he would show up soon, that he was planning on doing something to blow everyone's minds, since he was always so full of surprises.

Indeed he was.

You stood there, at the altar, all alone with your bouquet in your hands and your eyes nervously looking around the chapel with all of your friends and most of your family there. Your bit on your lower lip harshly, and then noticed how Stefan started to approach you with sadness and compassion in his eyes. 

At that very moment, as you looked into Stefan's kind warm eyes, you knew something was wrong and it terrified the hell out of you. Where was Damon? Where was he?

"Uh, Y/N... I'm so sorry, but Damon was seen leaving with a woman a moment ago. He wasn't even wearing his suit, so it seems like he doesn't plan on doing this. I'm sorry, Y/N, I-", Stefan explained, but you cut him off by waving your hand. You looked down at the floor, full of disappointment and regret, and sadness, but you could also feel anger bubbling up in you.

You thanked Stefan for the information, but didn't let anyone else know, you just made your way out of there and into the dressing room where you broke down to tears. You cried on the floor, not minding your dress getting messy or ruined or your make-up all over your face - your fiancé had left you at the altar and your wedding was cancelled. How could he do this?

With your friends and family there, all looking at you, while you awkwardly stood there. He let everyone down, including you, and for another girl? Did he really leave you, for someone else, on your wedding day? You almost wanted to laugh, but as you tried, more tears came out and you ended up sobbing again. 

"Y/N?", you heard Bonnie's voice and you turned around to look at the doorway where Bonnie was. From behind her, Caroline pushed in, not bothering to ask for your permission. She was your friend, and she wanted to comfort you. She sat down on the floor next to you, and pulled you into a hug.

"Where's Elena?", you asked with your voice trembling and cracking, letting them know about your weak state, as if the tears weren't enough. You wiped your eyes, but only for them to fill up again. Caroline held her jaw against the top of your head, and tried to soothe you down by rocking you on her lap and caressing your hands before taking a hold of them. You were honestly very very glad you had Caroline right now. 

And Bonnie too, who also came to you, and tried her best to make you feel better by making simple, but cute tricks with her magic. You smiled, but you were still crying nevertheless. How could you not cry, Damon left you.

"Elena went looking for Damon, preferably so she can kill him. Just so you know, I'm gonna kill him after Elena!", Caroline scoffed and you chuckled with Bonnie, but frankly, you knew that Caroline wasn't joking.

"What he did was horrible, and you do not deserve any of this, Y/N. This was supposed to be your happy day, and he ruined it for you. He doesn't deserve you, you're a great girl and he left you for someone else which was incredibly stupid, even for him", Bonnie said and placed a hand on your knee.

"Now let's get you out of that dress so we can go eat some ice cream and pizza. I'll make sure no one else comes there, just the three of us, even if I have to compel the whole diner", Caroline said, and helped you up. 

Even if Damon left you, and it caused awfully deep and long cracks, and wounds into your heart and made you stop dating for a while, you had your best friends, and they were always there for you. No matter what.
