Imagine your ex-boyfriend Kol coming back from the dead, and coming for you but you're now in a relationship with Kai

You and Kol Mikaelson dated for a year or so. It was wonderful, you were truly in love and all of your friends found their way to live with it, some of them even supported your relationship. His siblings thought you made him happier and controlled him when no one else could, and that was true. You and Kol connected on a level you thought you couldn't reach ever again with anyone else, it was so special.

But when Jeremy became a vampire hunter, with that burden, came a lot of problems. These being the urges to kill every bloodsucker in sight, including his own sister, and Kol. He needed to finish the hunter's mark, and to do that, he killed Kol with the white oak stake and set him on fire. You cried for days, and knew that it was pain you had never felt or would ever feel again. You hated Jeremy for doing it, you spent weeks avoiding him and talking about him to Caroline and Bonnie who were there for you. Elena tried to apologize, since she had her part in it, but you couldn't even look her in the eyes for ages.

Eventually, though, you managed to start fresh and turn a new page on your life. An empty page, waiting to be written on and to begin that new phase of yours, you became friends with Elena and Jeremy again. It took you a lot of strength, but after sorrowing for a year at least, you decided to take a grip of your life and start living it like it was supposed to. But you had to go through a lot, again, since Bonnie and Damon died. They came back though, Bonnie little later, but between Damon's and Bonnie's arrivals, came another man.

Kai Parker.

And you fell for him instantly, it was love at first sight. Caroline joked how you seriously had a thing for bad boys, and maybe she was right. After all, you fell in love with the cheeky flirtatious Original, and now this psychopathic, but seriously easy to love witch boy. Okay, to some people, he was not easy to love but you couldn't help but see his funny side, and you could not resist his wide smile or the way he kept bragging and showing off when he was around you.

You both fell in love quickly, and you started a relationship of course. You never thought you could love again, and everyone thought Kai could never ever love anyone, so you were really the perfect match, as weird as it sounds.

But Mystic Falls being the strange town it was, it decided to bring some dead people to life, and one of those people was Kol. You and Kai were sitting in a park on one lovely day, enjoying the sun and talking with your fingers intertwined. Suddenly, you spotted a familiar character in the distance and you swallowed thickly. You recognized him, you would always recognize him. He was your first true love, and some part of you still cared about him, so it was very easy to know it was really him.

"Oh my-", you began but you couldn't finish. You got up, and ran to the man who was walking towards you and Kai. You jumped to him, and he took you to his embrace immediately. You held him tightly, and let tears fill your eyes as you stuttered a weak hello.

"Hello, love. I've missed you quite the amount", Kol spoke up. His voice, it was just as attractive as you remembered. You shivered and allowed him to kiss your cheek, but obviously, Kai did not like that.

"Who is this?", Kai asked, his fists ready to punch Kol who let you go and gave a long, judging look at the man he had never seen before.

"I could ask you the same thing, mate. Y/N?", Kol asked and snaked an arm around your waist. Only then you realized what kind of a situation you were in, and you had to move away from Kol to save Kai from breaking apart entirely. But as you took a step to the side and stood in the middle, Kol raised an eyebrow. Obviously he had not expected to see you with another man.

"I'm Kai. Y/N's boyfriend", Kai introduced himself, with an evil smirk. Finally, though slowly, he was realizing who he was being face to face with and you knew it could not mean anything too good. Both Kai and Kol got easily protective and, or, jealous and it made you sigh loudly. You knew this would lead into fighting.

Kol laughed out loud. "Boyfriend? That is rich, that is... Wow. Y/N, is this correct? Is this petty witch here your boyfriend?", he asked, obviously amused. You cleared your throat awkwardly and scratched the back of your neck, which caused a hurt feeling on Kol's face, like he had thought it was a joke.

"Yeah, he is. Kai is my boyfriend", you mumbled, and Kol looked at you in sadness, but then turned over to Kai in anger.

"I see. Well, I happen to be Kol Mikaelson. I was with Y/N for a long time and I had quite a big part in her life, so... Don't think I'm going to hand her to you so easily", he said to Kai who laughed.

"That's funny, because I haven't heard a thing about you, so I guess you weren't that big after all", Kai pointed out and approached you, but you didn't feel like taking any sides so you moved away, so the two of them were facing each other, ready to attack any time soon. You didn't know what to do, you loved Kai, and he was your boyfriend now but Kol was your true love, and you grieved over his death for ages. He clearly meant a lot to you. But so did Kai.

"Oh, believe me, I'm quite big, mate", Kol spat and pushed Kai to the ground. They began fighting, and you wanted to stop them but you let it go to the point where Kol showed his vampire face and got ready to hurt Kai in ways you didn't want him to. You pulled Kol away from him, and tried to calm him down.

You made your everything to make him relax, and it took you some time but eventually he calmed down and apologized. Kai got up from the ground where he was pushed a moment ago, and wiped his bloody mouth as he glared at Kol who listened to you, but stared at Kai in rage.

"I'm going to leave now. Contact me when you start to miss me, darling", Kol said and kissed your cheek just to annoy Kai. Kol sprinted away and Kai took an alarming step towards him, but he was soon gone and you placed a hand on Kai's chest to stop him from attacking air.

"I don't like him", Kai scoffed and took your hand. You sighed, not knowing what to say.

It was a tough situation, really.
