Imagine being Elijah's ex-fiancé and finding out he has a date, so you interrupt because you can't stand the thought of him dating other people // Imagine being Elijah's ex-fiancé and reuniting after multiple months

Six months ago, when the summer was slowly creeping into New Orleans where you lived, you decided you had to explore yourself and find out what kind of a person you were and wanted to be. Your whole life was in New Orleans, it always had been, and you had been surrounded by the same people since you were a teenager, and you had only dated one man, so you weren't happy with your situation. You wanted to move elsewhere, live another life, do things you couldn't in New Orleans, and be away from all the supernatural beings you knew. 

But leaving meant abandoning your friends, Marcel, Davina, Rebekah, Niklaus, all the people that were close to you. And most importantly - Elijah. You and Elijah were engaged and your wedding plans were pretty far already, but your sudden urge to leave the town and everyone in it broke off the engagement. You left New Orleans as planned, and heartbroken Elijah stayed behind, with his family, but not even they could help. He was at his worst, he was sad, depressed, miserable. He had lived a long life, but this, this was the most awful thing that had ever happened to him. 

You were excited to move away, even if it meant leaving your almost husband. You changed surroundings, and kept telling yourself that you were happy and doing better than ever, but your heart and body craved for the man you loved. You wanted back to his arms, but you were afraid he wouldn't take you back. And you knew that in case he had just recovered from your break-up, you couldn't possibly return and pull him back to the point he started from. So you lived in your new home, in a new town, with new people and a new job for the summer, trying to tell yourself it was all good and you were just going through post-break-up feelings.

But the truth was, you needed him in your life. You needed Elijah, and his soft kisses, gentle caressing and loving handling. You needed all of him, from his fingers intertwining with yours to his hips rocking into yours on sleepless, quiet nights of pure love and lust. You wanted him back, so you decided to take baby steps towards your hopefully happy future, and started by moving back to New Orleans.

On your first night, you met up with Rebekah, and Marcel. You told them how well you were doing, but couldn't keep up with the lies for very long. You had to admit that you missed Elijah so horribly it made your heart ache and break, but they weren't too happy with you.

"I'm sorry, Y/N, you know I love you but I cannot allow you to drag Elijah down to where he started after you left. I respect your choices, and I can't blame you for leaving to figure out yourself, but I'm his sister and I have the right to stop you from seeing him. Of course you can talk to him, and become friends with him, but don't break all of it down to him immediately. Don't beg for him to take you back, start slowly, please. It has taken him the entire summer to get over you and if you wreck his recovery then I will make sure you know to stay away from him forever", Rebekah explained, and Marcel nodded to verify her words. You nodded, understanding her point, and promised to start out slow with Elijah. You wanted to be a part of his life again, but after what you had done to him, he deserved some comfort and the least you could do was respect him, his choices, and treat him like he had to be treated.
