Imagine arguing with Damon and fleeing the house, leaving him alone for the night which is when he realizes he loves you too much to let go of you

You wiped your eyes, where angry tears were flooding from. You stared at Damon, and listened to him yelling, accusing and pointing his fingers angrily at you. You wanted to yell back, but your throat was already sore from shouting a moment ago so you settled down with swallowing salty tears and standing on the other side of the room as he raged.

"Stop yelling", you begged, as loudly as you could. It hurt you to see and hear Damon so aggressive. You and him had never before fought like this, and you knew this could be the end of your relationship. All the anger that had been bottled inside you for the past two years which was how long you had been dating, was now exploding all over you two.

"Don't tell me what to do! This all your fault, anyway!", Damon shouted, his voice booming to you and piercing your ears. More tears fell from your eyes to your cheeks and you wanted to hit him, make him realize how he was hurting you with every word, they were like knives into your heart. His tongue was sharp, he was pushing all of his anger into every single sentence and they managed to cause a crack into your heart each time.

"How dare you accuse me like that! You know what, I've had enough! Have fun sleeping alone tonight!", you screamed, not minding your sore throat anymore. It ached, but it was worth it. Damon's face dropped and fear appeared into his eyes and his lower lip started to tremble as you stormed out of the house. You closed the door with a bang, and while walking to your car, you could hear loud yelling and bottles breaking inside the house.

You had broken Damon, entirely.

You entered your car, and drove to Caroline's house, knowing she could offer you a place where to stay. She immediately took you into her arms, and comforted you as well as possible, before pushing you in the living room where she wrapped you up with a blanket and seated on the couch. She put some flicks on the TV, and made you popcorn and tea, to make you as comfortable as possible. You loved Caroline, she was so caring and loving and you knew she wouldn't going to let you go before being convinced you were truly alright. Right now, you were not.

While you and Caroline giggled and watched movies, Damon found himself on his own couch, drinking from a bottle and sorrowing over you leaving him. He tried his best to get over it, but he really couldn't do anything else than find comfort in the booze. But as he sat there, he realized that you meant more than anything or anyone to him. He had never loved anyone like he loved you, not Katherine, not Elena, no one. It was you, who he needed.

You were Damon's true love, and he needed you in his life. Without you, he'd break apart, fall apart, and live in sadness and gloom for the rest of his eternal life. He didn't want that, and he couldn't handle it, so as soon as his head was cleared up, he got off of his ass and made his way to Caroline's house where he knew you'd be. You always went to her when sad or angry. She was your best friend, after all.

There was a knock on Caroline's front door, and she rushed to open it. You listened from behind a corner, and could hear Damon's voice which caused your heart to drop. He cared after all, didn't he? He wouldn't be here now, you thought, if he didn't care.

"She doesn't want to see you. Leave, Damon. She needs a friend, not someone who just yells and breaks her. Go!", Caroline said, but before she could slam the door to Damon's face, you appeared to the door and promised to handle the situation. Though against her want, Caroline left you with him, but stayed near enough to hear you two talking.

"Baby, come home. I miss you, and I love you. I care about you too much to let go. This one argument can't be what makes us throw our relationship away. I know I will never have something like this again, and you need to see how much I truly love you. Please, Y/N, you're so important and special to me, and I can't live knowing I scared you away. I promise to do my everything to mend your heart since I broke it, and I promise to never hurt you again", Damon begged, and you couldn't help but smile and pull him into a hug.

"I love you too, Damon", you spoke softly against his ear. He was right, your relationship was something wonderful and you couldn't let this one fight break it all. It would take you some time to fix it, but it wasn't all lost yet.

You apologized to Caroline for cancelling the girls' night, but she was happy to see you and Damon back together. She just wanted you to be happy, and with Damon, you really were.
