Imagine Kai realizing and admitting he's in love with you 

After the merge Kai and Luke had, Kai had been dealing with some real feelings. Like, real. The most confusing one so far to him was sadness, and crying had terrified him greatly but he was up for something even bigger, even worse for his poor heart. Whenever he was around you, he felt something about him coming alive, like his heart pumped a little faster and he couldn't keep his eyes off of you. Frankly, he wanted to grab you and never let go, he wanted to kiss your face off, he wanted to fuck your brains out. He could not get you out of his mind, and to him, it was hard to understand what on Earth could he possibly be feeling towards you, but to everyone else, it was clear.

Since Kai didn't know how weird it would be to compliment you each day or to suggest holding hands, for someone like him, he did it quite often. You and your friends were all shocked, but positively surprised to see this side of Kai. Of course he didn't like feeling so much affection for someone, but some part of him did not even realize how fond he was being of you. He was like a little child, unaware of the feeling called love, unaware of the vivid emotions he showed for you in front of everyone.

"Well, crap", Kai on one day said, snapping you out of your conversation with Elena and Damon. You and Kai were at the Salvatore house, since you had been worrying about him lately, you felt like being there was the best for him whenever you'd be gone. He had been clinging to you, and when you weren't around he was like a lost puppy.

You walked to Kai, and went to your knees in front of him. He was sitting on the couch in the living room, and pacing his knee up and down nervously. He glanced over to you, and a shade of pink covered his cheeks as you smiled softly.

"What's up?", you asked. Kai fiddled with his fingers, and took a deep breath before locking eyes with you, making you uncomfortable. For the first time in a long time, he didn't seem so awkward, shy, all those qualities that you didn't think Kai would have in him. For once, he was his own self - confident, forward and that cheeky smile pulling up his lips. His eyes sparkled with that boyish glisten, that meant trouble, and you loved it. 

"I finally understand - all those things I've wanted to do to you, with you, for you... Why I blush around you, or why my heart feels like a race car in my chest when I see you, why every thing you say makes me smile... Why I'm so addicted, why I want to be with you every second of the day and never be away from you...", Kai said, a puzzled look suddenly taking over his alluring eyes. You bit your lower lip in excitement, ready to hear it.

"I'm in love with you, Y/N", Kai breathed out and his eyes widened. You broke into a happy laughter and there were possibly some tears in your eyes too. You had been waiting for this. You too had a thing for Kai, but you didn't want to push him and break him since you knew all this sentimentality stuff was so new to him. Finally, he had realized, finally, he had confessed.

"Took you long enough", you said with a wide smile and attacked Kai's lips, craving for the feeling. You sighed in adoration as you felt his soft lips on yours and like your whole world was turning upside down as you two shared a passionate, but loving moment on the floor where you pulled him. His fingers were tangled in your hair and he held your face to keep it there, and you had your hands on his waist. You closed your eyes, but when you opened them you were only glad you did so. You saw Kai's sparkly, happy eyes and he kissed you once more, quickly.

You sat there in silence, for a moment, but Damon made sure to break the cute little moment you were having. "I would like to quote a man I used to know. You two, totally revolting to me", he commented and you giggled, while Elena slapped his arm and Kai gave an angry look.

But you could live with Damon's snappy comments, since at least now you and Kai had each other and that was much more important.
