He was left to ponder alone in the woods. Having an innocent life be taken by a cruel and unjust beast was something that kept him up and night. He'd lose sleep (or, what little he would occasionally have) worrying about if Kirby was in the shoes of the one passing. He could never forgive himself if that ever were the case.

He didn't reflect his fatherly qualities to the naked eye; to see it, one would need to interpret carefully and study him as a person, in order for it to make any logical sense.

She knew that, as she had worked under him for countless days, weeks, months even years; it merged together. Cruising through the skies of Dreamland, watching as the small world below them shrank. Mesmerising.

Sunset was upon the horizon, tickling the sky pink.

"Red sky at night, shepherd's delight.."

Further, the sun climbed.

"Red sky in the morning.."

It shone in the distance, radiating it's warmth and light for all to see and feel.

"Shepherd's warning.."

Not a cloud hung in the sky.
Clear.
Beautifully clear.

Her focus was on how cloudless the sky was. Red indicated a storm or natural disaster.

"No disasters will happen today. What a lie that is." She muttered to herself.

Her hardening glare dropped to her fingers. There was nothing exciting about them, and she flexed them idly on the lap, palm faced skyward.

"Saffron, are you awake?" Her superior asked, shoving the branches of the bush aside.

She lifted her focus from her fingers to him, and he was met with her weary, pale blue gaze.

She uttered,"Barely. What do you need, Sir?"

"Please take the others back to the Halberd. Keep an eye on the others for me." He commanded politely.

"Aye aye, captain." She mockingly joked,"Just, make sure nothing bad happens to you or the others. If I find anything bad has happened, I will kill anyone responsible."

"Very well." Was all he could say.

He never understood their loyalty. The Meta Knights were a different story entirely, but they were questionable.

Hoisting the other two up, the three of them staggered over to the ship, Saffron helping the other two to stand. She set them down on their beds and got to observing the scenes from the deck.
