Chapter 38: Twins

What he said before he left really puzzled me and at the same time made me sad. I don't know what he really meant by that but the way he said them was really sad.

After we wrapped up the case, minabuti kong umuwi muna ng probinsya para makita ang kambal.

Nasa malayo palang ako ay kitang-kita ko na kung paano sila tumakbo para salubungin ako.

"Mommy!"

Agad silang yumakap sa akin and my eyes immediately teared up.

"Namiss ko kayo. Sobra!" I whispered and kissed the two of them.

"Miss ka rin po namin! We love you so much po!"

"Pakiss din, Mommy!"

Pumikit ako at natawa nang halikan nila ako pareho.

"Sweet niyo naman, dahil d'yan may pasalubong kayo." Nakangiti kong sabi at hinila na sila papasok ng bahay.

I gave them what I bought. Story books at teddy bear para kay Gab at isang set ng painting equipments and chocolates para kay Dylan.

"I really love it, Mommy! Thank you po!"

They hugged and kissed me again. Masuyo ko naman silang niyakap pagkatapos.

"How's your mission nga pala, Mommy?" Gabrielle asked.

"Oo nga, Mommy. Nahuli na ba ang bad guy?" Dylan added.

I was actually surprised and I found myself almost getting tearful again before answering them.

"Yes, anak. Nakulong na ang bad guy. Justice has been served." I smiled.

"Yey!" They beamed.

"Ang galing mo talaga, Mommy! Kaya idol kita e! When I grow up, I want to be like you! Gusto kong maging strong and palaban!" Gabrielle said while smiling which almost melted my heart.

Ang sarap-sarap lang sa pakiramdam na marinig ang mga salitang iyon, kahit na minsan pakiramdam ko ay hindi ko deserve.

For the next days, I bonded with them, pambawi man lang sa mga oras na wala ako sa tabi nila. I bought what they want, namasyal kami, nag-mall, nagswimming, at kung ano-ano pa.

I was just so happy.

Ngunit may isa pa ring bumabagabag sa isip ko. Ang tatay nila.

"Mommy! Babalik ka po ng Manila ulit?" Dylan asked.

"Uhm, yes, Mommy will visit Manila next week. May kailangan kasi akong kunin doon pero babalik naman agad ako, baka nga isang araw lang akong mawawala." I smiled.

"Aww, hindi po ba kami pwedeng sumama ulit? Nakakamiss po kasi ang ice cream nila doon." He pouted, bigla namang parang kinurot ang puso ko dahil sa pagpapakyut niya.

"Yeah, right. I missed the candy cane that Tita Ninang bought me. Parang gusto ko ulit na pumunta doon sa toy store na iyon, Mommy. Punta lang, hindi bibili." Gabrielle suddenly added and smirked.

"Right! Pero birthday na pala natin sa next next na linggo!" Dylan added.

I smiled. Right, their birthday is coming up. I am planning to throw a small party for them actually.

"Mommy, can't we just celebrate our birthday there? I want to go to the amusement park po. May napanood po kasi ako sa Tiktok, ang ganda po! May princesses!" Gabrielle beamed and tugged my shirt.

I sighed and looked at them both.

"Gusto niyo ba talagang sumama sa akin sa Manila?" I squatted in front of them.
