"...Shadow?" My recently sober voice asked. I had come to realize I was now sprawled across my bed and the ebony hedgehog was hovering over me.

"I want answers." Shadow growled.

"Now? I have a real bad headache—"

"Stop stalling! You know what you said!" At this point, Shadow's face was mere inches away from my own and I began to pray that the others would just burst through the door.

"I-I..." How I could explain this? I honestly wasn't even sure I wanted to. I was planning on keeping this a secret for the rest of eternity.

"Y/N." Shadow reprimanded me.

"Alright, how much do you want to know?" I sighed in defeat, looking up at the hedgehog who was seeing my very vulnerable state.

"Everything, Y/N."

"Okay, well...When I went to that alternate universe and I stumbled into you from there. And apparently the two of us were a couple, so I played along with it. But it kinda went too far—and I may or may not have kissed you? And said the 'L' word..."

I couldn't read Shadows expression. It was a mixture of emotions. I could only assume anger and shock. I was sincerely hoping he chose to stick with shock. What would he have to be mad for anyway? It's not like I kissed him. Though, maybe that's the issue?

"Did you mean it." It sounded more of a demand.

"What?"

"Did you mean it when you said you love hi—me." Shadow's stern expression was still looking down at me and I couldn't help but feel pressured into being honest.

"Y-yes."

A part of me was insecure. Unsurely, I wasn't keen on why. Shadow had said it before. Why was this any different? Perhaps because I meant it non platonically.

"Why didn't you tell me..." Shadow murmured. He was now sitting down beside me and his hardened expression softened. Now, I was the one left confused.

"It's embarrassing..." My cheeks brightened from the closeness and the look Shadow was giving me. One that was not at all threatening.

"Why do you feel embarrassed? I recall saying I love you before the mission." Shadow tilted his neck slightly and I couldn't help but admire his curiosity and innocence. He didn't know how I meant it...

"I meant it differently." I concluded.

"How so?"

"I meant it...romantically." I was starting to get annoyed with how far Shadow was prying. But it needed to come out sometime, I suppose.

"And you suggest I didn't mean it in that way either?" Shadow frowned, appalling me.

What.

"I love you, Y/N. And when I said it I didn't mean it platonically either. The reason I was mad was because you never admitted your feelings for me. I thought you had...rejected me."

"Rejected?! No! I just didn't know if I should say it back publicly or not, especially before a fight. I thought it was a heat of the moment sort of thing." I couldn't look Shadow in the eye. Here we were, I was hungover and Shadow and I were confessing our love for each other in a bedroom.

How romantic.

"It was not a something in the spur of the moment, Y/N." Shadow sighed. His head finally raising to look me in the eyes.

I couldn't look in those captivating ruby eyes much longer.

"I'm glad." I smiled, avoiding his gaze.

"Y/N." Shadow scolded.

"Y/N, look at me." And I didn't get a chance to resist because the hedgehog had simply grabbed my chin and forced me to look at him. God, I regret giving in.

His eyes!

"Y/N, I want to do something." The soft toned hedgehog glanced down at my lips, assumingely referring to that. I hesitantly smiled.

"So do I."

Shadow smirked before his eyes became half lidded and slowly leaned in. I found myself doing the same. Our lips were only inches apart and were beginning to touch. His lips were soft as I felt them brush against mine—

"Oh my god! Y/N and Shadow the Hedgehog! Are you two kissing when there's a minor in the household?!" Shadow and I halted immediately and his neck snapped to face Rouge who was smirking at us in the doorway.

"Way to ruin the moment, Rouge!" Amy popped out from behind her. Seemingly disappointed with the lack of results. Oh, but nothing could compare to how livid Shadow was.

And Mr. Emo is back.

"GET OUT." He slammed the door shut in the two girls, who's giggles were not ignored as they walked away chanting our names and smooching noises. Shadow sighed and banged his head against the door.

"Do you think they're going to tell everyone?"

"I know they are going to tell everyone." Shadow groaned. I just simply stared at him. What had he expected? They were going to find out eventually. But I suppose it was going to be semi awkward when Shadow and I weren't even a couple yet.

"Y/N," Shadow started. "Can we go out tonight? So we don't have to run into faker and his idiotic friends."

My eyes widened. Is Mr. Emo actually asking me on a date?!

"Of course, Shadow." His body quickly relaxed. "But I think Amy is going to stalk us anyway."
