"Don't put your shoes on yet," Mammon whispered. "Socks will make your steps quieter."

Tiptoeing down the stairs, MC and Mammon snuck out of the house in the early morning. One of the easiest ways to get some alone time together was to simply wake up before everyone else did.

There was a special feeling about the rest of the world being quiet and still, while the two of them had each other's company to indulge in.

MC carefully shut the door on the way out, the cool breeze chilling their skin as they stood at the entrance.

Mammon stretched his stiff arms out before sitting to get his shoes on. "You cold?"

"No," they murmured back. "You?"

He shook his head, and offered a hand to them. They gladly accepted his comforting and familiar touch. Despite Mammon's words, his hand was cold in theirs, and the hairs on his arms stood on end.

So they leaned into his arm to share some warmth.

He looked at them with a soft expression on his face. "See, I knew you were cold..."

"Totally."

Neither of them quite knew where they were going, simply following the pathway which eventually lead to the nearby forest. Their pace was slow, and they occasionally stopped to admire a plant or bug they spotted. Mammon was uncharacteristically quiet most of the way, enjoying the calming air and the human at his arm.

The two eventually came upon a darker area of the path, shaded by trees and foliage.

Out of nowhere, Mammon slowed to a stop and pointed to one of the bushes. "Look!" He whispered. "Baby Dande-lions!"

MC followed to the spot where he was pointing, expecting to see dandelion flowers. Instead, there was a small creature with dark tangled fur that resembled vines, and a puffy tail that swayed behind it. They dumbfoundedly watched as small puff-ball like babies followed behind it in a line.

"Are those... cats?" They slowly asked, a bit starstruck.

"Kinda! They're Dande-Lions!" Mammon said with a wide smile. "Satan loves them. They start leavin' their homes when it gets real warm out. Ain't they cute?"

"They really are. The babies look like cotton balls."

"Yeah, they haven't grown their dark spiky fur yet."

"...Can I pet them?"

He shook his head. "Nah, we gotta like, respect nature or somethin'." He began to twirl his hand in the air as he spoke. "Besides, the mama cat can spit venom and shake sharp barbs off her fur. It hurts like hell." He explained this with the soundness and regret of a demon who had made the mistake of patting a dande-lion once in his life.

"Fair enough," they said, taking a solid step back from the animals. They checked the time, noticing that breakfast would be held at the house soon. "Shall we go, then?"

Mammon gave their hand a gentle squeeze. "Totally."

A/N- I would risk it all to pat a dande-lion
