The Night Lights are part of the strike class and are the offspring of Toothless and the Light Fury. They live in the Hidden World and share some abilities of their parents.
Like their parents, Night Lights have powerful plasma blasts. They fire first to warn and only openly attack when threatened. Night Lights have an appearance similar to both a Night Fury and a Light Fury since they are a hybrid of the two closely related species. They appear to have small spines on their back, like a Night Fury whilst lacking the single fin of the Light Fury. Originally, their tail fins were much like that of a Night Fury's, but around 1300 years after the first Night Lights were born, the species' tail fins changed in shape, connecting more fully to the tail, giving them an overall trident-like appearance and the first set of fins on their tails and their wings have gotten much narrower. They have four ear-like appendages on their head and are piebald in color.
