If you have ever lost anyone close to you, then you already know how it feels. For Evangelina Gilbert, losing that part of herself was frequent, the death of her mother and father.

The evilness of Evangelina's dreams, testing her each day. The fear of losing someone again, and again, was dreadful. No matter how hard she tried, that feeling would never fade away.

The heartbreak repeated itself, over and over, and right now, she always felt missing from the happy young girl. The lies filling her head, people just said she'd tried dealing with grief, making excuses for her parent's death, that they did didn't in a tragic fire.

Evangelina remembered waking up, in a frantic state, ten years old in a new clean room. A short memory wiped her mind, as she remember the man who escorted her away, and then everything when dark.

Her new adoptive parents, spoke of her parents dying in a tragic fire. Evangelina only denied the fact, her eyes trying to hold back sorrowful tears, she kept hoping one day her parents would one day return but, they never did.

Her life forever changed at that moment.

Lost a part of herself, she couldn't reclaim.

Sleepless nights, twisting and turning in the covers of her bed. Questions arising into that young mind, holding onto a clutch of hope, she'd reclaim the life she once had.

But, she had to adapt, if she didn't she wouldn't be able to carry on. Years now passed, trying to escape her once a dreadful story, but somehow always returning.

Opening her eyes, the night sky gleamed, shining down upon the girl, a velvet sky and underneath laid the Gilbert household.

Her hand turned to quilt over, her feet touching the cold ground, wandering over to the window, opening it wide open as she felt the freezing breeze hit her skin.

Sitting down, her legs stepping over the ledge, dangling down as she watched the stars closely, gazing into the enchanting scene,

"I miss you," Evangelina whispered, closing her eyes tightly,

"Miss you more than anything," Evangelina struggled, a sad sigh escaped her lungs.

"I'm adapting, but I know, I know in my heart you didn't die in a fire," Evangelina stressed, watching the moon with her teary eyes.

"I can't escape trying to find out the truth, I will find out." Evangelina sadly smiled, "that's my promise to you,"
