I could hear my footsteps on the hard concrete and the pine trees whooshing behind me. I couldn't help but shiver from the cold wind as I walked up to my school building by myself.
school had just recently started, just about a month ago. I don't understand how it can be so cold.. it's only the middle of september.
my friends were inside next to my locker, annoyed that they had to wait for so long.
-"what took you forever?" Millie asked, crossing her arms.
-"you agreed on 7:30. It's 7:46." Sadie marked.
-"sorry, it was just my mother. why did we have to come early anyway? school doesn't start until 8:15. There's barely anyone here yet." I asked, shoving my bag in my slim locker.
-"because! we were planning on buying tickets to the football game tonight, remember? they'll sell out by the time everyone gets here." mills said, walking at my side as we walked down the halls.
-"do we really have to go to that?" I groan.
-"yes. It's a really important game because finn and caleb wanted us to go. We heard college recruits will be there." Sadie cheered.
-"you're only going because your boyfriends will be there." I defended.
-"maybe, but also because it'll be fun!" Millie said, as I threw my head back annoyed.
we got to the booth where the tickets were being sold and bought one each, which was $15.
as we were walking back, we noticed all the football players walking in together.
they were all wearing a hoodie under their football jerseys, caleb waving to sadie and finn waving to mills.
i noticed another guy I recognized very well standing in front of everyone, smiling and laughing.
he made intense but quick eye contact with me as he passed by, i couldn't help but notice the big #1 on his chest.
I guess I was staring at him for so long, my friends noticed and pushed me slightly.
-"were you just looking at noah schnapp?" one asked.
-"do you guys talk?!" Sadie smiled.
-"god, no! hes so loud and obnoxious. He's a player too, hes with a different girl every week."
-"yeah, but he's cute! him and I have talked a few times, hes actually always been single." Millie defended.
-"no! even if he was single, girls look at him batting their eyes 24/7. that would just be annoying. I don't understand what anyone sees in him." I roll my eyes, as they walk behind me outside the doors.

my only true friends were only ever millie and sadie. we sit with other people at lunch, but they're all fake and, quite frankly dumb to be honest.
we sat with 3 other girls, paige , jane and abbie. One of the reasons im so familiar with Noah, not just because he's the richest and most athletic guy in school, but because abbie is always talking about him. she has this weird monster obsession with him that I could never understand, she says she talks to him every day on Instagram but never in person.
I always found it suspicious and weird because she gets her hopes up, thinking he likes her when it sounds like the entire opposite.
i never really cared about her anyway, she can get her heart broken if she wants. she's so clueless it's almost funny.
sadie, millie and i sat next to them, talking to each other and isolating them away, per usual.
-"after the game, do you wanna go out to eat afterwards?" sadie asked.
-"who's idea was that?" I ask, squinting.
-"Finns."
-"okay, I really don't feel like being a 3rd wheel to either of you guys so I'll have to pass."
-"I can have them bring another friend on the team." millie insisted.
-"I don't know.. I still have to ask my mom if she's alright with me even going." I rolled my eyes, eating the food on my trey.
-"you guys are going to the football game?" abbie asked, snooping in our conversation.
-"uh.. yeah?" I said, giving her an odd look.
the three of them were cheerleaders, they are supposed to sit where the rest of the cheerleading squad sits, since they all sit together. but they're just too snobby for the rest of the cheerleaders.
Abbie had dark brown hair, with blue eyes and freckles, she was decently tall.
paige had curly, brown hair with blonde ish tips, with darker skin and hazel eyes. she was the shortest of everyone.
addy has dirty blonde hair with brown eyes, she was the only one in the entire group that wasn't as snobby and bitchy. She's just quiet and in her own zone, she doesn't have a bitchy attitude. she used to sit with the rest of the cheerleaders, but paige and abbie forced her to move with them, so she had no choice. I almost felt bad for her, she was always forced to be petty and mean because of them.

once lunch was over, I walked to my next class, not very happy about it either.
i liked the teacher, but we had a test that I was dreading to take.
her tests were always so confusing, she was probably one of the hardest classes I had, in my opinion.
It was algebra 2.
a lot of people in my class understood it, it was always just me with problems. math is just not my thing.
i walk in to my assigned seat near the back at the end of the second to last row, as people started walking in, noah sat next to me where his seat was.
he was to my right, I never noticed he didn't have many other friends in this class, neither did I.
sadie and millie had biology right now. i knew noah was here, but I never payed much attention because of how quiet he was, unlike normally.
he's always making jokes and being immature every class, except for this one.
the teacher walked in, making us clear our desks as the tests were being passed around.
i pulled out a pencil, writing my name before beginning the test.

1.       x3 + 4x = 8
x7 + 64x2 + 2 =

I stared at my paper, blankly, trying to remember how to solve the problem.
I look around, people were already moving on to the other questions, I was still in question one.
I pulled my hair behind my ears, getting a little stressed out.
as I was about to write down an answer to move on, I feel something in my nose..
before I could react, i huge drop of red liquid falls onto my paper.
I could feel it falling down my nose and onto everything, I tried not to make a scene and held my nose with my jacket sleeve.
another nose bleed?
I keep telling my mom I need to see a doctor about this. It happens every other day now.
I could feel the person next to me see what was happening, the teacher slowly walked up to my desk and whispered in my ear.
-"you can take this in studyhall, go down to the nurses office and she'll give you something." She took my test that had a few blood drops soaking into the sheets of paper.
i grabbed my bag and hurriedly walked out of class with my sleeve still over my nose, I could feel someone still looking at me, but I didn't turn around.
I almost felt embarrassed by it at this point, it happens so much I'm almost used to it.
i have about a thousand ruined jackets that have blood stained into the sleeve.

the nurse couldn't even really do much, she just gave me a tissue and had me sit in there until it had stopped running, which didn't take about half an hour.
-"should I call your mother this time?" nurse kate asked.
-"no, im fine. it happens a lot." I shook my head.
-"I know, it's the 4th time this month, y/n. I'm getting a little worried. I can give you the number of a recommended doctor if you'd like." She offered, which I hesitated to accept.
if my mom would even call, she's always busy with something.

I walk out of the school building with my friends, getting ready to walk home down the street.
-"we'll pick you up at 7!" sadie yelled from behind me.
-"got it." I yelled back, holding my thumb up before disappearing down the road and into the path through the woods. The path that led to my house.
i was never a fan of my house, it was old and creepy, and it gave off the vibes of the 1600's, no matter how many times we remodel it.
It always just gives off a creepy vibe, especially since it was right in front of the woods. Surrounded by trees, nowhere in the city.
It had a bridge leading to the neighborhood, but it was still kind of in the middle of nowhere with 5 other houses surrounding us.
at least it wasn't really beat up and moldy like a few houses in town, I should feel luckier.
besides, it was still kind of a nice neighborhood.
i walked through the door and on the wood tiled floor that creaked with every step.
I saw my mom, passed out on the couch.
I could tell she had been drinking, she looked to be 5 seconds away from barfing her brains out.
-"mom, I'm going to the game tonight." I said from behind the couch.
-"go ahead." She whispered, falling asleep.
I rolled my eyes and walked upstairs to my room, my room was the only place in the house that didn't feel creepy to me.
my bed was in the middle of the room, with two nightstands next to it.
In the corner of the room across from it was a huge bean bag chair, next to my desk with all my stuff clattered on it.
i needed to clean my room, I've just been feeling so lazy and tired lately.
i texted sadie from my cell phone, telling her I was allowed to go.
it was only 3:45, I had hours before we had to leave.
I plopped on my bed and opened my laptop to watch some YouTube videos and did homework to kill some time.
before I had to go to the most boring event ever.
