Shipwreck Cove. Present-day.

IT WAS DECIDED quite quickly that they would flee to the Enchanted Forest to get some much-needed distance between themselves and Davy Jones. They waited a few days for Erica to rest up and heal properly -- also she was under strict orders from Jaclyn not to use her magic until she was properly better and to make matters worse Calypso agreed so she was outnumbered

Erica hated being outnumbered

She sulked in her bedroom for the next few days while she recovered from the trauma of overusing her magic. Propped up with a nest of pillows and her laptop, she found herself scrolling through the old laptop Elizabeth gave her and watching the movies. Sometimes Jaclyn would join her and she'd watch a movie with her girlfriend before one of them broke and they got swept up with each other, as time around them freezes as they map out their bodies. Every bump, scar and flaw that they had turned to liquid gold as they are touched, kissed and worshipped under the watchful eye of their partner

The time that they spent together had been the best of Erica's life. There was something in the way that Jaclyn touched her, kissed her and spoke to her that made her feel so very loved. She wondered if Jaclyn knew that she drove Erica half-mad with all the things she did, making her head spin with wonder and lust and love.

But of course, as much as they tried to ignore the outside world, the bubble that they buried themselves in grew smaller each day with the weight of the world crushing them even though they tried to ignore it and focus on each other

Erica was missing magic, she had gone from using it every day to quitting cold turkey. She could feel her magic burning inside her, urging her to use it but she didn't. Erica knew that she wasn't quite energised enough to do that -- and she knew that Jaclyn was worrying over her state but just because she wasn't using magic didn't mean that she couldn't learn about it

Once again Erica found herself pouring over books and journals written by Calypso, absorbing as much information as she could, looking at everything from spells that turned things to stone and on the off chance spells that she was hoping would help her get back to Emma. When she realised that all of this, her going off with Jaclyn on her ship, all of it was to find a way to get back to Emma

And she had failed

Erica had got swept up in the adventure and the thrill of the pirate life. She had been so blinded by everything about the adrenaline and living her life on the hire wire, Emma had been pushed to the back of her mind and since she had found herself unbusy for the last few days Erica had found plenty of time to feel guilty

"What's on your mind, sweetheart?" Jaclyn asked, leaning in closer to Erica and skimming her lips over Erica's cheeks before pulling back and studying her face properly  "You're not feeling guilty, are you? Because you really shouldn't"
