''The story seems simple. Girl meets boy. Girl falls for boy. Boy falls harder. They spent an entire summer together and their lives are changed forever. And then they lived happily ever after. Love stories are always that simple, right?

Except in this particular story, it wasn't that simple.

In this one, it wasn't because their fondness for one another had to be kept secret at first. Because the sister of the boy, who was also the best friend of the girl, didn't initially approve of their relationship. Because they lived on opposite ends of the world. Because they each had their own traumas associated with the love stories they grew up with. Because the timing wasn't right. Because any great love story will be far from simple in the beginning, middle, or end.

The end for the boy and the girl in the story, however, is promising. Very promising."

The following is an array of letters written by Harry to Lacey throughout the course of their relationship. Also included are greeting cards & emails sent by both of them from all over the world, their official wedding vows, and a few other special surprises including a bonus scene that takes place at the house that started it all.

Read until the very end for those surprises!

(To help keep track: they met in June of 2020 and got married on June 20th of 2026. Each letter will include the month and year.)

Enjoy! :)

Dear Lacey,

This is a collection of letters and cards I've written to you— most of them I've never sent (I secretly stole the ones I did send. Sorry, love, I'm giving them back now!)

Each one was created at a specific point in my life but I always had you in mind. The ones I never sent are because I'm an idiot, but after coming across them again in the move, I want to give them to you now. They were always meant for you anyway.

In other words, it's a little documental journey of where we've been throughout our entire relationship. I'll be honest, it's not all sunshine, but it's us. And I love us.

Happy anniversary, darling. xx

Lacey,

I cannot even begin to say how sorry I am. For leaving you. For hurting you. For being selfish. I'm sorry for ruining this weekend for you when it just should have been about your parent's wedding. For not telling you any of this before now. I'm so sorry for it all.

This summer has been the best summer of my life because of you and now I've fucked it up. I'm sure you're tired of hearing that. I know I am.

I wish I can be better for you. To be the someone you deserve. To be at your beck and call always. To hold you. To make you laugh until it hurts. To listen to you. To take you to places like the ones we've been to all summer long. To open my heart up to.
