It's normal for a child to dream about their future. They create amazing perspectives of how they'll be in middle school then secondary school then in college then university then finally, adulthood. Of course, time is a factor that changes everyone's perspective. Then they realize that everything don't go as planned.
Time can either be a foe or an ally. Choose to waste time and you'll end up regretting it for the rest of your life. Make the most of it and you'll have the best life possible. Let it control you and it can either make you or break you.
Back to the theory of children planning out their lives. Getting older is a proof that time can do beautiful or cruel things. One second you're living in the moment then the next thing you know you're sulking in the corner feeling sorry for yourself. People would be surprised how easy it is to lose interest in something or someone they love in a blink of an eye.
But one can either be bitter about it or thank it for the time you felt so much love for something.
Today is a beautiful sunny afternoon, very unusual in early December. The only downside is that I'm working my ass off Corwin's new broadcast. There's not a single cloud in the sky and as much as I want to cherish that all I want, I couldn't because Corwin's keeping me stuck here.
When 4PM strikes, I shut my computer down and scribbled my last final notes and shut my clipboard. I went to Caroline's table where she's busy with scheduling of next week's guests.
She looks up at me, looking surprised as I hand her the clipboard. "Done? That was quicker than I thought." She says reviewing my notes.
"You always sound so surprised." I tell her with a smirk on my face. She smiled and said goodbye. "See you later, Caroline." I say.
I turned my heels and went into the elevator. I hit the button for the ground floor. When the steel doors opened, I didn't waste another second before getting off. Bidding the receptionist goodbye, I stepped out in the warm air. I feel like I've been caged all day long in the office. Id rather be in the studio, actually or up in the radio station because the office is a pain in the arse. Literally my bum cramped up five times today.
I got on a bus, the first one that passed by, and found a seat in the back. This afternoon, I'm going to meet my two boys in QIU and go for dinner with our other friends. We've got some catching up to do with all of them. Harry said it was all right to bring Blaine because we were only having dinner at a restaurant. However, Louis told me he might not appreciate being out too late so it's best if we leave him with Emily.
The familiar building of QIU came into my view. I pushed the red button in front of me and the bus came to a halt in the next stop. I got down and went inside the building. University environment still looked the same and felt the same. There are students talking in the hallway, some sat on the steps studying desperately for first term finals, professors discussing amongst themselves and there's always that one group who could care less about their future as they sat on the bleachers of the stadium, blowing smoke out their mouths.
I spot Blaine sitting beside a large duffel bag that he could easily fit in. He looks well-behaved as he sat there, dangling his feet on the edge and watching a group of football players kicking balls in the field.
I sat behind him and wrapped my arms around him. He shrieked as I pulled him on my lap and start kissing his chubby little cheeks. His laughter filled the massive stadium but every player was so busy with their practice, no one cared.
"Where's dad?" I ask him and he points right ahead of us. Louis, in his usual get up and in his full coach mode. He looks stern and could blow a fuse any minute now.
