7. Someone New

"Victoria?" he asks, as shocked as I am.

"¿Qué haces aquí?" I translate the same sentence I've said a couple of seconds ago.

After that we both start talking really fast in our native language, until Niall coughs behind me.

That cough brings me back to reality and I shake my head, turning to him.

"Niall, I suppose you remember Daniel" I say turning to him; "Dan, this is Niall"

"Yeah, I remember him" Dan says reaching out his hand to shake Niall's, "How are you?"

"Dan is staying this year in London doing an Erasmus" I explain what Dan has said to me in Spanish a couple of minutes ago.

"I'm tired" Niall answers, "can we please go to sleep?"

"Sure" I smile, "night-night, Dan" I say turning to my friend.

"I'll see you tomorrow" he smiles back and waves at Niall before I close my bedroom door behind me.

I turn to Niall, waiting for his reaction to see my finished bedroom.

"Did you know about this?" he asks, his eyes not leaving the door.

The question takes me by surprise.

"How could I have...?"

"Did ya know?" he asks again, turning to me this time.

And I can see in his eyes that he's not at all pleased with who my roommate is.

"No!" I jump, "Didn't you see my face right there?"

"It's..."

"Crazy? Weird? Against all odds?" I cut him, "Yeah, I know. But I knew nothing about it. I didn't tell him because I didn't want a lot of people to know and he didn't tell me because he was planning on sending me a pic tomorrow to brag about it. Let's go to sleep, Niall" I sigh, not really feeling like fighting after this great night we've spent.

"Yeah, I'm tired" he nods shaking his head and getting in bed.

"Maybe you could move in with me"

My hand, which was reaching out to get one of Niall's hats, stops short in the air. I shake my head and turn to him. Have I heard right?

"I wouldn't bother you, I promise"

"What are you talking about?" I ask pulling a face. Niall doesn't answer; "is this because of Daniel?"

Niall turns around and takes a t-shirt from his drawer.

We've come to his house before we head off to pick up the 5SOS boys so he could change his clothes.

"Sorry if it bothers me the fact that my girlfriend is going to be sharing a flat with her ex for six months" he says with a tone putting the t-shirt on.
