"Do they know it was because of me?" (Y/n) asked Soo-Yun while they walked near a narrow creek that meandered inside one of the gardens of the palace.

"Not at all. Don't worry," he smiled at her while he helped her walk over a path of stones.

"What will happen to them?" she asked, her smile having faded a little bit. She still couldn't quite process everything that had happened yesterday. The fact that she had even danced with conspirators that wanted her 'soon-to-be husband' dead.

"They are mere politicians, so they're not a real threat. For now, they will stay in prison. We may be able to get some more info about their plans with Suna and any other conspirators we might have overlooked" he explained, his smile also gone.

They stayed in silence for a while. The sound of the gentle flow of water under (Y/n)'s feet made her focus on her thoughts while it was (Y/n)'s soft hand that made Soo-Yun focus on his own. That, and helping her walk steadily over the rocks.

"If we're lucky, you might be back home soon," Soo-Yun said with a small smile that didn't really reach his eyes. They actually looked quite contrary to the curve of his lips. (Y/n) stopped stepping from stone to stone and turned to look at him, leaving her hand in his bigger one. She didn't have a smile either.

"Does that mean you're safer now?" She asked him. Soo-Yun didn't answer at first. He just looked back at her, unable not to smile. He nodded, although it didn't quite mean that. But it made her smile and it was more simple than answering truthfully.

"Then I guess it's not that bad," she smiled again, continuing with her walk. Her hand held his tighter but he paid it no mind.

"Don't you want to go back?" he asked after a while. (Y/n) took some time to answer and started to slow down.

"In a way, I do," she said, looking down and frowning "But..." she made a pause, slowing down even more "I've never felt like I do here...." she finished, stopping all of a sudden.

Soo-Yun stopped too and turned to look at her, but she continued to look down. Her frown was getting even sharper and her hand was now especially tight around his.

"(Y/n)..." he started, trying to look at her hidden face "Are you okay?" he asked, noticing that her behavior was weird. She was paler than before, and there was slight sweat on her forehead that much to his dismay was most likely not caused by their conversation.

"Mhm," she nodded, continuing with her walk. Soo-Yun's eyes remained on her, but he didn't say anything else and decided to trust her. Perhaps he shouldn't have.

When (Y/n) was about to jump from one big stone to another one she started to lose consciousness and thus slipped away. Luckily, Soo-Yun was already careful and caught her on time.

"(Y/n)!" he sounded, obviously worried. But she laid completely unconscious in his arms.

"What happened," all of a sudden Kakashi appeared out of thin air. Soo-Yun didn't answer him, he wasn't even surprised by his abrupt appearance. Instead, he felt (Y/n)'s heating skin and carried her horizontally, rushing to the palace "Let me carry her, I'll be quicker" Kakashi said again for he was a skilled ninja and knew he would be faster to reach for help.

But yet again, Soo-Yun ignored him and rushed to the palace with Kakashi trailing behind him, obviously bothered by the Lord. Kakashi didn't care if he didn't like him. If he hated ninja or if he hated him specifically. This was (Y/n)'s health they were talking about and he couldn't believe he wouldn't let him take care of her just because of who he was.

They reached the palace quickly and immediately, a handful of servants came running to aid their Lord and 'Lady'. (Y/n) was brought to her room and after laying her unconscious body on her bed two nurses checked her up. Meanwhile, Soo-Yun and Kakashi stood on different sides of the bed, worriedly looking at her in silence.

"She has a slight fever," the nurse explained while making sure (Y/n) was surrounded with pillows and comfort "Her blood pressure seems to be a little high as well" Soo-Yun nodded, but Kakashi didn't feel like that was enough information "We should let her rest for now," she said, signaling everyone to leave the room, Kakashi included.

He looked at (Y/n), and then at Soo-Yun who looked immobile. The nurse's words didn't apply to him, and it became obvious when the woman pulled from Kakashi to give the fake couple some privacy. He bit his lip in annoyance, but he knew there was nothing he could do.

Once Soo-Yun was alone with (Y/n) he dropped his unbothered expression and his brow finally straightened. He approached the unconscious girl and sat on the edge of the bed, staring at every of her sleeping features. She didn't look so pale anymore, but she had a slightly pained expression. It made Soo-Yun's frown deepen. He couldn't help but move his hand close to her face and gently take her hair out of her face. And while he was at it, he also made a ginger caress on her forehead and cheek.

Meanwhile, on the other side of the bedroom door, Kakashi couldn't help but pace from one side of the hallway to the other. Unable to get inside the room due to the guards, he couldn't do anything else than worry about her. He still didn't know what happened to her, or what was wrong with her. And now he couldn't even be by her side. This wouldn't happen if they were Konoha. This wouldn't have happened if she didn't have to play the role of some guy's wife. Or if Soo-Yun hadn't had his eyes on her from the beginning.

He wasn't stupid, nor blind. It didn't shock him that someone had a liking for her, but it didn't stop him from being annoyed. Especially if that someone was a rich guy who purposedly used his position to get close to her. At least that's how Kakashi saw it.

Jealous? No, he was not 'I'm a professional,' he excused himself as if that meant he couldn't feel jealousy. 'It just pisses me off,' he thought every time he saw them interact. Because yes, he was aware of what went through Soo-Yun's head and heart. He knew, because the way Soo-Yun looked at (Y/n) was the same Kakashi looked at her.

His nerve-wracking thoughts didn't get any better when he heard (Y/n)'s cute giggle coming from inside the room after what seemed like hours. His head snapped towards the door, but the way the guards looked at him let him know he wouldn't be able to get inside and see her.

"I'm sorry," (Y/n) said, still with a smile "I spoiled our walk..." Soo-Yun arched his brow.

"(Y/n), I've walked these grounds a million times. I just wanted to spend time with you," he said, making her blush and look away "Why didn't you tell me you were feeling wrong? Why did you lie when I asked you?"

"Because, I didn't want to make a big fuss about it... I hoped it would go away," she said, still feeling slightly light-headed.

"Too late. As long as you're here you are a princess, and you will be treated as such" he smiled at her, making her unconsciously smile as well.

"Thank you," she said, laying down again and closing her eyes. Her head started to spin and her chest felt heavy like earlier.
