The next person, according  to birthdays, should've been Namjoon.

Seokjin complained that as oldest he should've been first all along.

Taehyung complained that his last birthday vid call with his parents didn't count, and now he couldn't wait to have them meet me.

'Really we have to do this?' Namjoon groans for the fifth time.

'Yah! Yes we have to do this! You can't expect me to wait two more months!' Seokjin all but yelled as he drove.

'Hmmm... and I'd have to wait three months, hyung! That's just not nice.' Taehyung insisted, agreeing with Seokjin.

I just keep quiet, eyeing the chaos line otherwise known as the Kim line of BTS.

I mean, any of the guys can be chaotic on their own or in pairs, but with two out of these three known for being the most chaotic, and the third known for his destructive tendencies...  this is the true chaos line.

'So we're meeting all your parents at Seokjin's family home?' I ask, faintly.

'Yep.' Taehyung replies.

'Honestly, if your remember, Daegu was a long drive, and Ilsan isn't that much different.' Namjoon adds, turning around in his seat up front to look at me and Taehyung. 'It just makes sense to go there anyways. It's a couple of hours less driving, and we can see everyone all at once instead of having to do this over multiple days.'

'Hey! It's also because my family is best at food, and we know how to throw a party!' Seokjin says, deftly maneuvering through the traffic of his hometown.

'You already saw Daegu, or what we've had access to, when I went to pick you and Yoongi-hyung up, so it's really more important to see my family than to see Daegu.' Taehyung added.

'And we can see Ilsan later in the summer when the flowers are in full bloom. It's mostly just buds and leaves right now.' Namjoon nods, agreeing.

'It's just... three sets of parents? All at once?!' My voice cracks a bit at the ending, making the three of them look at each other.

'Are you okay with this?' Asks Taehyung, reaching out to hold my hand in his large warm one.

'Yeah, I guess?' I respond. 'It's a bit much though... you know?' I sit back, realizing my stress had made me move so that I was hunching forward, as if to move to sit on the edge of the seat.

'You know my parents like you.' Taehyung continues.

'Mine are easy to get along with. With my brother already married they just want to see me happy.' Seokjin says, glancing in the rearview mirror to catch my eye and smile encouragingly.

'Mine... probably won't have any problems.' Namjoon adds, sounding slightly unsure.

'With mine there, they won't say anything untoward even if they do!' Seokjin grins, slapping Namjoon on the shoulder.

With a grunt and a wince Namjoon agrees, settling back into his seat, looking out his window as we pull into a neighborhood in the upscale side of town. We're almost at Seokjin's childhood home.

The laughter around the table is buoyant and loud.

The three Kim fathers are on their third drinks of the night, the mothers are in the kitchen, sipping their wines while preparing small desserts for everyone to browse through.

I glance at them enviously. Sitting with the guys is probably expected, as I am being introduced, but the hen party in the kitchen seems more relaxed, less about putting my best face forward.

'Tell us more about yourself, Y/N!' encourages Taehyung's dad.

He's been very positive about me, pushing the concept that this is a good thing.

Actually, after the first five minutes of getting to know Seokjin's dad, he's been just as agreeable to the idea that I'm his son's soul bonded.

Namjoon's dad... has been more reticent.

I don't think he dislikes me, but he seems more introverted, harder to warm up to... and has a harder time accepting new things.

In the car ride to the hotel for the night, the fight over who sleeps with who (we got two rooms) winds up with Namjoon putting is leadership foot down. After all, this was supposed to be him introducing me to his family, not the other two.

'Ugh, just don't sleep naked, Taehyung! That's awkward at best when we wake up in the morning.' Seokjin grumbles.

'I can't help it that I sweat in my sleep.' The youngest Kim replies.

'You cuddle while sleeping too! Doing that naked is just... wrong.' Seokjin grumbles.

'Bet you'd like it if it was Y/N cuddling naked at night!' Taehyung's smirk and wriggling eyebrows has me giggling.

Namjoon's smirk and side glance at me has my giggles lodge in my throat.

'Will your dad and mom even email me?' I ask after we get to the room we're sharing.

'Yeah, probably.' Namjoon replies, fixing the handle that pulled out of his rolling luggage. This is the second time it's happened this trip, so he knows how to fix it himself.

'What does probably mean?' I ask, sitting on the end of the bed, my nerves in knots.

This has him look up, noticing my stress. Abandoning the luggage for now, he comes over and sits next to me, using an arm to pull me into his chest, hugging me.

'Dad's never been very open and social. Kinda like Hobi's dad.' Remembering how his mom covered for Hoseok's dad, I nod. 'Mom might be more likely, but with her and the two other Kim Mom's doing their usual thing, hanging out in the kitchen, it might need Taehyung's mom reminding her to get communications started.'

His voice, rumbling in his chest, is so very soothing. I wind both arms around his middle, snuggling closer.

'Once she starts, though, mom is an enthusiastic person. You'll get her writing to you almost daily. That'll pull dad into writing to you too.' Namjoon continues, slowly stroking my hair, soothing my nerves.

I sigh, looking up at him, refusing to release the hug.

'I guess I'll just have to be patient and be positive.' He nods, smiling.

'That Seokjin's dad and mom took to you right away means that my parents will follow and do the same. It just may take a bit of time for it to click.' He pecks my forehead, wrapping both arms around me before falling back on the bed.

My squeal of protest, fake of course, has him laughing.

I join in giggling.
