Pressed Time: Chapter 16 Arc 2

Narrator pov

Ahri sat atop a high tower in the middle of the city, her star Guardian armor shining down on the people below. She saw her familiar come out of hiding as she jumped high in the sky and flew around the city.

Ahri:( Night patrol, nothing like it... I wish someone was here though. I shouldn't say that, even though I wouldn't want someone else to suffer with me and how boring this can be... But I have to keep watch.)

The night continued as Ahri flew towards the top of the sky, she looked around the gray and white clouds as she scanned the area once more.... Nothing.

Ahri pulled out her phone as she called up Sarah.

Ahri: Sarah, I just finished my patrol, nothing around the city, and I'm not getting anything around other parts of Runeterra either.

Sarah: Good, we have a quiz tomorrow in Chemistry, don't want my only ray of hope in getting anything higher than a C to be tired~

Ahri: Whatever, your such a bitch~

Sarah: It is literally my middle name.... Sarah "Bitch" Fortune.

Ahri: It's actually Anne.

Sarah: YOU KNOW I HATE THAT!

Ahri: I know, I will be home soon, and we can get drinks and....

Sarah:... Um... Hello, Ahri? You there.

Ahri: There is something nearby, something magical.

Sarah: Are you serious?!

Ahri: I am completely. I'm sending you my location now, hurry up.

Sarah: I'm already moving.

Ahri hung up as she looked around the clouds, something was moving quickly between them. She could just barely catch its fast movement as she was trying to keep her eyes on her target. She grabbed her phone as she texted everyone while keeping her eye out for anything.

Ahri:( Let's get here quickly. What the hell is going on? Whatever it is...)

Ahri snapped her neck behind her as she saw a small coronet as it flew towards her with breakneck speeds. The creature was black and purple with small wings and almost beak-like mouths, however they were much sharper than any bird or creature around Valoran City would have.

Ahri quickly ducked under it before it spun in the air and dove at her.

However, she was ready for this as she grabbed it quickly at the throat. It bit her hard on her hand as she was bleeding. However fire came from her hand as it burned the creature away. She shook off the ash from the creature as huffed at it.

Ahri: Disgusting, what the hell was that!?

Ahri looked back as a gang of them were swarming her quickly. She quickly spun around as there were some at her every angle, and they were even in the clouds.

Ahri:( There has to be at least 50 of them! I can take 5 maybe even 6 at a time, but if they don't get here soon-)

Ahri heard a whoosh in the air as she smiled and ducked. A powerful magic bullet nailed one of the corrupts in the head as it disappeared into thin air. She looked back to see Sarah sweating and flying as her guns were both pointed to the creatures.

Sarah: Shock and awe.

Ahri: Good thing you came.

Sarah flew over as she put her back to Ahri as they were both getting surrounded by the creatures

Sarah: You have any idea where these fuckers are?

Ahri: Not a clue, not to mention they aren't summoning a Corrupting Zone, they aren't just here for a fight.
