A/n: This chapter switches a lot between addressing Tommy as Tommy and Tessa so sorry if it gets confusing. So sorry for how long chapters are starting to take, School takes a lot of energy out of me and I'm promising myself I'll have this chapter finished soon, ALSO WERE FINALLY AT CHAPTER 10 THIS IS FUCKING AWESOMEEEE <3

tws: Mentions of hospitals, Mentions of Unsafe binding, Abuse, Alcohol Abuse

Eventually, Tommy finally got to go back to Phil's house, free of white walls and the sterile smell of chemicals, and prime he was so ready to leave. Now don't get him wrong, he will miss Kristin but if he gets asked to rate his pain on a scale from 1-10, he's gonna rip the smiley faces off of that paper.

(not sure if this is just a my state thing but gods it gets annoying when every 20 minutes a nurse comes in and asks you to rate your pain when you've said 10 every damn time just to be told they can't give you any medication- I'm ranting aren't I, sorry-)

And with a goodbye to Kristin( and possibly getting her number for Phil), they signed Tommy out of the hospital and headed home.

"Hey Tess, are you feeling any better?" Phil's voice rings through the quiet car, Tessa's head shot up and she quickly responded.

"Yea I'm feelin' great" Not a total lie, Tommy physically felt fine, but dread was lingering in the back of his mind silently wondering when he would inevitably have to explain the bandages.

"Well I'm glad you're okay" Phil smiled at him through the mirror before letting the car fade into a less awkward silence.

  ]-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-_-[

As soon as they arrived home, Tommy instantly made his way to his room and flopped down on his bed, eager to sleep on sheets that didn't feel like sandpaper or trash bags.

But for some odd reason, he just couldn't fall asleep, thoughts swam through his mind in a raging current that he just couldn't slow down.

And after many attempts to relax his mind, he gave up and decided to go see what Wilbur was doing.

Tommy made his way across the hall to Wilbur's room but as he approached the door, he noticed two shadows in front of the door.

He cupped a hand around his ear and listened to the quiet conversation, deep down he felt guilty for eavesdropping but most of him said 'fuck it, I'm nosey'

"What are you talking about?"

"Will, I can tell, please just talk to me"

"Techno I don't know what you're talking about, I promise you, I am Fine"

Tommy knew that was a lie, its always a lie, but he couldn't help but wonder why. Why is Techno so worried. Why is Wilbur so dismissive. But above all, Why is Wilbur upset?

Tommy had only been in the house for about two weeks, when did he find himself becoming attached to the people there, then it hits him, no really, Wilbur opened the door.

Tommy quickly fell to the ground when the door flew open, though Wilbur didn't seem to notice Techno definitely did.

"shit Tessa are you okay?" somehow his voice stayed monotone and leveled as he helped Tommy up.

"Yea I'm fine, sorry for scaring you" He dusted himself off and straightened back up before flashing a small smile at Techno.

Tommy couldn't help but wonder what the conversation was about before he showed up, so him being himself, he went for it.

"Is it okay if I ask a question..?"

Techno tensed up but quickly played it off like nothing happened before responding.

"what's up?"

"What just happened?"

"you got hit by a door"

"wow Techno, never would've guessed that"

"Glad I could help, good talk!"

And with those words Techno just walked away, leaving Tommy even more confused then he was before.

'Whatever, Ill just go see what Phil's doing'

Tommy hopped down the stairs to find Phil but when he peeked inside his office, Phil wasn't there. 'Where is he?'

Tommy walked towards the living room, hoping to find Wil or Techno again so he could ask where Phil was but instead he saw a boy?

Not just a random kid, this boy seemed familiar. Where did he know him from, School? No he was only in school for about a month at his last home. The Orphanage? No I would've remembered his name if he was there.

But as a man walked in the room, he knew who the boy was, but as it seemed, the man knew who Tommy was too. Right when Tommy was going to run, Phil followed in, laughing with a drink in hand.

"Ah! Tessa Sorry I didn't warn you in advance that people would be over, Schlatt was in the neighborhood so he decided to stop by!"

Then Schlatt finally made eye contact with Tommy, at a whole five feet and seven inches, Tommy felt small for the first time in a while.

His body began to shake and his blood began to boil as he examined the three in front of him. Toby stood next to the couch, wide eyed as he stared at Tommy, Schlatt's false confidence fell through in his eyes, the anger, the fear, the memories.

Tommy could still smell the stench of wine bottles spilling on the carpet as he frantically tried to clean them up in hopes the older man wouldn't be angry with him. Tommy could still remember the sound of bottles breaking against the wall as he stood in front of the closet where Toby hid in a futile attempt to protect the other.

Tommy remembered every horror from the first home he had ever been stuck in, every scar, every wound, every word, every single time Schlatt grabbed another bottle of whiskey or wine, every. single. thing.

And Tommy would've been lying if he said he wasn't terrified with every fiber of his being.
