Twenty-Eight - Against All Odds (Part 1)

Taehyung: "Dad." He uttered as he stood at the main door.

Seung-heon, Taehyung's father, who was sitting in the living room immediately heard the familiar voice of the young man. He stood up quickly and walked towards Taehyung.

Seung-heon: "Son! Taehyung." He hugged his son as soon as he reached him.

Taehyung froze for a moment. It's been a long time since the last time he saw his father and he should be happy now that they're finally together however, his heart is not at ease thinking of how his dad will react after he drops the news about his girlfriend's pregnancy.

Seung-heon frowned when he noticed how Taehyung looked uneasy.

Seung-heon: "Is there a problem, son? Aren't you happy seeing your dad?" He questioned.

Taehyung: "Um, I, Of course, I'm happy, dad. It's just that I..." He stuttered.

Seung-heon: "You're acting weird, son. Is there a problem?" He asked looking straight into Taehyung's eyes.

Taehyung was speechless for some time, unsure if it was the right time to tell his father that he's having a son soon.

Seung-heon: "Relax, Tae. Whatever your thinking seems to be important... maybe we can talk about it after dinner. Anyway, I have urgent matters to discuss with you too." He told him.

Taehyung heaved a deep breath before responding.

Taehyung: "Okay."

Taehyung finished having dinner with his father. It was just the two of them as his mom had to travel outside the city for a business trip. All throughout, he tried his best to act normally, conversing with his father about anything as if he was not hiding something.

After dinner, Seung-heon asked Taehyung to see him in his home office to discuss an important matter. All Taehyung could do was follow as he was told.

Seung-heon: "So... Wanna share what was bothering you all this time, Tae?" He asked calmly.

He was sitting in the coach in his office with Taehyung across from him.

Taehyung: "I.." He let out a deep breath before continuing.

Taehyung: "Dad, promise me that you will understand my situation, okay?" He said looking straight at him.

Seung-heon's forehead creased after hearing what his son said.

Seung-heon: "I don't know where this is going, son... but, you know I will try to be considerate of your situation." He answered.

All Taehyung could do is wish that he would truly understand his situation. 

Taehyung: "I- I have a girlfriend and her-" He started but was unable to finish his statement because his dad talked over him.

Seung-heon: "A girlfriend? Are you and Irene back together?" His face immediately brightens up upon mentioning the girl's name.

Seung-heon: "She answered your phone when I call you yesterday, right? I knew it was her." He continued.
