Chapter IX

Julie woke up, finding herself tucked in the same room she had slept in once before, but the sense of danger was what had stirred her awake. "Cody." She mumbled as she quickly sat up. She ran out of the room, down the stairs and straight for the firepole, which she quickly slid down. Finding everyone, except Cody, was down there already.

"Clara...I mean, Julie, you're awake." Graham spoke as he looked at her.

"That doesn't matter right now." She cried as she reached for her container for water, only to find it was empty, remembering she used it and the Primes also used it on her themselves. "Not good....not good." She mumbled as she still had her wings on her back. "Cody is in danger, but I can't leave with my wings. Heatwave, you got any water you can spare? I need to shift, but the Primes used up all my water reserves."

"What? What's wrong with Cody?" Chief Burns asked, just as a phone call came in. "Hello, what's your emergency?"

Julie rolled her eyes as she turned to Heatwave who rolled his eyes at her, before spraying her with his own hose briefly, giving her just enough as she instantly transformed right in front of them. A cheetah in place of herself as she turned tail and ran out of there for the main doors, looking at the Chief to see he was already panicked. Growling, she saw Dani quickly go and push a button for her, opening the door instantly as she took off running out of the firehouse. Leaving all of the questions behind, as she followed her instinct to where she saw Cody.

Running, she came across a large scraplot, just in time to see a large machine starting up, having a large set of jaws chomping automatically. She looked around the lot, spotting Cody standing in the middle of the opening, just as the large machine started rolling towards him. A red laser pointed on Cody in the process, as though the machine was deciding on its targets, or in this case, victims. Running across the lot, she growled, getting Cody's attention as the boy panicked seeing her. The boy ran away from her and the machine, heading for some scrapped cars, her running alongside him.

Coming up on a wall in the way, she stood between the boy and the machine, growling vigorously, as the lazer instantly started to point right at her. Successful in getting the machine's attention, she danced back and forth, causing the machine's laser also to dance after her wherever she went. Looking back at Cody, she yowled, trying to get him to run off, just as Blades landed nearby, with Dani. The girl instantly hopped out of Blade's alt mode.

"Run Cody!" Dani yelled, just as she looked up to see the machine right on top of her. Quickly jumping out of the way, the machine barely missing her tail, she ran around it, the machine chasing after her as she lept onto a stack of cars, hissing and chirping in anger.

Getting the signal, Cody ran away from the machine, when the machine was turned away from him, running right over to where Dani and Blades were, seconds before Chase, Boulder, Graham, and Chief Burns showed up. Grateful they were out of the way, she ran away from the group, the machine hot on her tail, eating from broken washing machines, to cars, to large stacks of plates.

"Clara! Julie, whatever your name is, run!" Blades yelled. While she lept from one direction to another, keeping the machine occupied, she started to wear out. She still was recovering from the blasts that the Primes gave her, but in her view, she was confused how they had not strengthened her by now. Maybe she had to unlock that strength.

"Julie, get away from the scrapbot." Chief Burns yelled. Getting her attention as she saw everyone running around, taking cover. Looking back at the bot, she turned tail and ran for cover as the others did. As soon as she turned to watch, while taking cover under some cars, she saw a barrel of something get thrown at the machine, getting eaten instantly, before the whole thing went up in flames, blowing up. The smoke cleared away, revealing an even scarier scrap bot that had the jaws less as even now, more jagged. Not to mention the teeth of the jaws were stained black.
