Chapter XIII

It was so hot today in Griffin Rock, Julie was sitting with Chief Burns riding around town, while the others were hanging around trying to find ways to help people cool off. Julie sat there feeling herself covered in sweat as they rode through town.

They passed by Francine and Cody who were working a small lemonade stand, while in town square Heatwave and Kade were spraying kids down with the hose. Julie knew Heatwave wasn't thrilled about it.

"Francine Green's beverage enterprise is illegally operating in a non-commercial zone and I fear Cody may be an accessory." Chase complained as they drove past.

"Why don't we let it go this time, Chase. The kids are helping people stay cool. Speaking of which, all the advanced technology that went into you bots and they couldn't give you air conditioning?" Chief Burns replied.

"I was not aware that my air needed conditioning." Chase commented.

"Here, let me help." Julie spoke up, as she pulled out some water from her own canteen and automatically formed some thin layers of ice, thanks to her powers being unable to melt against the summer heat. She had the water float over to Chief Burns as it instantly froze against his seat and a small patch froze on his neck to help keep him cool, before she did the same thing for herself.

"Thanks Clara. That already feels great."

As they drove around town, Julie spotted the town mayor and several other people gathered on the sidewalk. The mayor was wearing a chef hat and holding a spatula in his hand. "What the heck is going on?"

"Apparently the mayor is wanting to see if he can actually cook an egg on the sidewalk."

"That sounds ridiculous." Julie replied, just as the mayor's hat caught fire along with there being a small fire on his spatula.

"Kade, fire." Chief Burns spoke into his comlink.

"On it." Kade replied as they drove up toward the mayor, as Kade and Heatwave moved to take care of it as well. Kade only needed to walk over a few feet, before he sprayed the fire down, putting it out, before he also sprayed the mayor down in the process. Once he was done, the mayor turned and looked at him with shock. "You're welcome."

"Maybe that will help cool the hot headed mayor down." Julie commented next to him. "Come on, I wanna see you spray the kids down a little more, it looks fun."

"Sure, why not." Kade mumbled as he walked back over to where he was previously spraying the hose.

Julie stood underneath a tree as she watched the Burns all set something up, not knowing entirely what was going on, but she was curious all the same as she had her hood up over her head and her mask over her face. Apparently Cody thought it would be a fun idea to try and make it snow on the hot day to help cool it off, so he found a weather machine somewhere in town and they were about to use it in the town square.

Personally Julie was rather excited, because the last chance she had to enjoy the snow and cold weather, a certain bot named Bumblebee thought it would be a fun idea to bring technology out to where they were supposed to camp out and enjoy the nature and snow.

Watching as Cody ran over to some machine, a large bolt of electricity flew up into the sky, forming large clouds above them. In mere seconds Julie stood up and saw the snow started to fall heavily around them, making her smile as she spread her arms out and twirled beneath it.

Julie ran over to Cody as she held a snowball in her hand. "Oh, hey Cody."

"Clara? Why are you all dressed up in your ninja outfit?" Cody asked as he turned and faced her.
