Chapter XXV

Julie sat in the hangar as all the bots and the Burns were attending emergencies. Julie wanted to go with, but she was assigned instead to be backup if they needed her.

Sighing, Julie went to join Cody in the comcenter. Climbing up the ladder to see a human flying with his jetpack near the window, before disappearing as tons of bug-like objects were flying outside.

"What the heck is going on?" Julie asked as she approached Cody.

"I don't know. I'm struggling to keep up." Cody replied. "Griffin Rock Emergency, Hello Mr. Sharma...huh, a swarm of large insects? Just stay in your house until someone gets there okay? Uh, Mr Sharma?"

"Cody, Heatwave and I might be out here for a while. Found another unattended fire. It's like the campers just...disappeared." Kade spoke as they saw an image of Kade and Heatwave spraying water at something.

"Guys, something strange is happening on the water too." Dani spoke.

"Ghost ships." Blades mumbled. As Julie stood there watching, before suddenly several phone calls started to come in, leaving her feeling quite uneasy. Until they all just suddenly stopped.

"What is going on?" Julie asked.

"Weird." Cody muttered.

"It's like folks are here one minute, but then gone the next." Chief Burns commented.

"Dad? Dad!" Cody cried as suddenly they heard something weird on the other end of the line, not getting a response.

"Come on. Let's go find out what is going on." Julie spoke, looking at him as they ran out to where Cody hopped onto his bike, while Julie ran beside him, shifting into a german shepard. Panting as everywhere they went there were crushed cars, newspapers on the ground, and other things out of the ordinary. It was like everyone just panicked, before there ended up to be no sign of said people.

Julie looked up as they came across Chase, where the others were joining them.

"Have you heard from Dad?" Kade asked

"Where have you looked?" Graham asked.

"What was he doing?" Boulder asked, as they all ran toward Chase.

"Did he say anything?" Kade asked.

"Guys, let Chase talk." Cody cried as he ran toward them. Julie sat down nearby, looking at him, waiting for his explanation.

"I was occupied with a driverless vehicle, by the time I was able to return my attention to the Chief...he was...gone." Chase spoke, looking at them.

"Probably that shrink ray again." Heatwave commented.

"Everybody check under their feet." Blades cried as he, Heatwave, and Boulder all lifted a foot up.

"It's not the shrink ray, there's only one and it's in the archives and people are vanishing all over town." Cody exclaimed.

"The park was completely empty too." Boulder replied. Julie and them all turned, hearing someone in panic as they saw a man swatting at some weird looking bugs, before one landed on him and the man vanished. Disappearing in front of them.

"What kind of insects are these?" Heatwave asked, looking at one of the bugs that had hit his chest a few times.

"Apparently the kind that don't affect bots." Boulder commented.

"Quick vehicle mode, everybody inside." Kade ordered. As all the bots, except Chase transformed into their altmodes, as the Burns ran to get into them. Julie ran over to Heatwave, as she jumped into his passenger seat, before transforming back into herself.
