We walk out of my room and head downstairs. Through the hall and into the dining room. There's a small table, a round table to be exact that's light brown with black choirs that are around the table. We sit down and Jenny says.
¨So KC, how do you like your room?¨
¨Better than I expected, and what I expected was already good anyway."
I'm sort of lying because what I was expecting was just the bare minimum. Everyone starts to laugh.
¨Well good because it took a lot of time."
Says Jenny and right after Simon cuts in with.
"And a lot of money,¨ he says under his breath.
¨Hey,¨
Jenny says.
"Oh you guys really didn't have to go through all that.”
"yes, we did, and just because it's true doesn't mean it's always bad.”
Even though I feel bad, I know they would as well if I said I did, so I try not to express it on my face.
"Note taken and truly, thank you. I really appreciate it.”
I say humbly.
"Of course Kc, but you shouldn't be thanking us, It should be Este-.”
Just then Estell walks in.
"So sorry I'm late.”
"Well speak of the devil.”
"Well there's the first difference.”
Simon says while laughing.
"What do you mean?”
"Well here in England, we say talk of the devil not speak."
And there is the first difference of speech I will hear during the time I'm here.

"Well your just in time, we were just talking about you designing KC room,”
"Well good. Was it good?”
"It was more than I thought and that was already great so ill say it's perfect." I
say with a smile on my face.
"of course no worries:”
Estell then cuts to a question.
"So are you ready for school tomorrow?”
As she sits down at the dining table.
"Well let's hope so,”
"Ok good but just a precaution Kc. We wear our uniforms tomorrow because we always wear them on Monday and Friday. Trust me now, Estell and I hate it as much as you are going to.”

If that is not the weirdest rule I have ever heard in my life then I don't know what to do anymore about anything.
"That's a little weird isn't it?”
Jenny springs up from looking at her food and with a kinda rude and annoyed tone of voice she says
“oh very, it's absolutely ridiculous.”
“well you just gotta get used to it. like me and Laim”
We all laugh. As much as I switch accsents all the time, I acually have a mixure of a tone down american and a brooklyn accsent. Like i've said before and will keep saying. Weird. I knows it's very weired and it will continue to be weired. Ya feel me?

About 20 minutes into us talking about school or other random things, Liam says
“So the northwest is just a crazy place isn't it."
Now even though I've lived in every major city, I was actually born in a coastal town in Oregon. Seaside to be exact.
“Oh yeah absolutely, the crazy part though is the weather changes like the sky has some problem being a singular type of weather for an hour or something.”
“Oh, that doesn't seem fun.”
“It is Simon.  I mean... now I can smell when rain is about to come.”
Everyone at the table just sits there blankly staring at me.
“I'm sorry…. Huh?”
Estell Looks shocked from the statement I made.
“Yeah I know it's weird but it's trud."
"Oh that's a bit absurd,”
Liam says.
“Yeah it must be hard carrying an umbrella” Says Jenny as Simon says right after
“Yeah really.”
I let out a chuckle.
"Oh no, no one carries an umbrella unless you are not from there.”
"Oh… interesting."
"Yeah, I mean that is Portland's slogan. Ya know, keep Portland weird.”
Portland was the first major city I moved to when I was six months old. I lived there until I was two so I say I'm from there even though I'm not from anywhere. I'm just the American boy. No state. No city. Just..... all American.

We finish eating and we clean up.
“Well it was fun to learn more about you”
Liam says to me with a smile.
"Of course, it's nice to reflect on my life and how great of an experience it is so far .And I'm glad to start this-.”
I get cut off by Estell as she puts her arms around mine and Liam's shoulders.
"This new chapter with us”
Ironically were all the same height.
"Right,” I say as all three of us laugh. We walk upstairs and we go to our rooms. Estell's room is right next to mine right by the staircase, while Liam's is on the other side of Hall on the other side of the staircase. Liam says
"remember we wear our uniforms tomorrow and yours is in your wardrobe."
I nod at him and say.
“ok.”
As all three of us walk into our rooms.
