#Yatiz is a story focusing on the lives of young people in a small seaside municipality called Carmen in the southern part of the Philippines. The name is based on a cuss word here, "Yati/Yatis" that has no English equivalent but is closest to WTF.

"...SO NOW, MA'AM SAYS SHE'LL GIVING EVERYONE 5 POINTS, DIRECT TO THE CARD, EXCEPT FOR THOSE WHO ARE ABSENT."
Noel clenches his jaw and lets out a huff of agitation. "Pisti gyud ni si Ma'am Rosas uy."
"HONESTLY, FUCK MA'AM ROSAS."
JR elbows him and scans the surroundings. "Hoy, naa gani'y makadungog sa imo."
"DUDE, PEOPLE CAN HEAR YOU."
"Alangan part¹ no..."
"WELL I'M UPSET, MAN..."
Maya teasingly pouts at Noel as she chews on her lunch.
He sticks his tongue out at her. "...first time ra gud to nako malate unya ingon ana dayon," Noel says.
"...THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME I WAS LATE, AND THAT HAPPENS."
"Bad timing lang gyud, men."
"JUST...BAD TIMING, MAN."
"Uy, hi!" Maya turns to look, she notices the girl from the H.E. Showcase and her friend Gab moving in their direction.
"OH, HI!"
"Diri ta lingkod oh," Gab says, gesturing towards the empty table next to them.
"WE COULD SIT HERE."
"Naa'y naglingkod dire?" Crying girl asks Maya.
"IS THIS TABLE TAKEN?"
She shakes her head.
Gab quickly takes a seat and puts down her tray of food in front of her and her bag on the edge of the table.
"Ikaw man tong sa showcase no?" Crying girl asks as she sits down.
"YOU WERE THAT GIRL FROM THE SHOWCASE, RIGHT?"
"Oo." Maya responds, taking in her entire look. The school uniform, her huge hanging strawberry earrings, a neon pink beaded necklace, two silver bangles.
"YEAH."
"Pamela diay."
"I'M PAMELA, BY THE WAY."
"Maya."
"Gab," she says as she finishes transferring her food from the tray to the table.
"Erm...Maya, Sorry kaayo ato ha. Nitukar akong pagka-maldita ato," Pamela says.
"ERM...MAYA, I WANT TO APOLOGIZE FOR WHAT HAPPENED THAT NIGHT. I WAS SO RUDE."
"Okay lang. Naa pud ko'y sala ato kay wala pud ko kahuna-huna ug pangutana sa apilyedo ni Gab para mas klaro."
