"Okay, see you na pud next Wednesday," their instructor says as he walks out of the classroom. He passes by Maya who is waiting outside for Noel.
"OKAY, SEE YOU GUYS NEXT WEDNESDAY."
Drum and Lyre practice had just finished and some guys are already on their way out.
She looks through the door and sees Noel inside talking and laughing with JR and some other guys as they arrange their instruments.
They notice her waiting outside and walk towards her.
"Hi," Noel says, adjusting his sweaty hair.
"Hi, gwapo¹."
"Hi, Maya," JR says, flashing his eyebrows at her.
"Hi, JR!"
"Una nako bai. Murag di naman to muapas si Aljun," he tells Noel.
"I'LL GO AHEAD, MAN. I DON'T THINK ALJUN'S COMING."
"Lage, absenot kaayo bataa. Ayo-ayo men."
"YEAH. I'M NOT SURPRISED, REALLY. GUY'S SO LAZY. YOU TAKE CARE, DUDE."
"Bye," adds Maya.
"Bawi lang gyud ko next time bai," he says, with one quick smile at Maya as he walks away.
"HANG OUT SOON, OKAY?"
"Nagdali lage to siya?" Maya asks as she slides her hands through his hips.
"WHY'S HE IN A HURRY?"
Noel makes sure JR is far enough away. "Mura'g nagalala na ang sitwasyon sa ilahang balay. Murag nadunggan man gud nako gabii nga nagshinagitay iyahang mama ug papa."
"I THINK THE SITUATION WITH HIS PARENTS IS GETTING WORSE. I HEARD SOME SHOUTING LAST NIGHT COMING FROM THEIR HOUSE."
"Sure ka?"
"YOU SURE?"
Noel nods. "Tapad lang baya mi sa ila. Dungog kaayo uy."
"YEAH, I'M PRETTY SURE IT CAME FROM THEM, I EVEN LEANED AGAINST THE WINDOW JUST TO MAKE SURE."
