I immediately regretted my sudden courage. Jack stayed quiet for what felt like an eternity, standing very close to me and just staring at me with those empty, black sockets. I looked up to keep looking into his face, not wanting to avert my gaze and make clear just how scared of him I was at that moment. I just had to hope he didn't hear my heart nearly beating out of my chest. Why did I even say anything? Where did that sudden courage even come from? I should've waited to get my mind a bit more clear before I said anything.
My mind was racing as I was watching Jack, trying to figure out what he was thinking and what might be happening to be in response to me speaking out. He was standing still as a statue though, so there wasn't much I could use except the very intimidating vibe he gave off. I couldn't even tell how much time has passed. It felt like several minutes, it might have been just a few seconds of silence before he started to speak. "What did you just say?" His voice sounded lower than usual. Almost like a growling. I wanted to respond but I felt my words get stuck in my throat so I only opened and closed my mouth. Reflexively, I took a step back only for him to grab my chin and pull my face closer to him roughly. His sudden movement startled me and I whinced. "Repeat it. What did you just say?"
His grip kinda hurt but I didn't want to back down anymore at this point. I took a deep breath and looked into his black oozing sockets again. "Let. Me. Go." I put emphasis on every single word, trying my best to speak without my voice trembling or getting weak. He slowly started nodding and taking his gaze off me. I felt his grip get loose. He looked to the side like he was thinking. Before I could form any other thought in my mind, he very quickly and harshly grabbed my neck and pushed me back, pinning me against a thick tree trunk behind me. I whinced again as my back hit the hard surface of the bark. His grip on my neck tightened, making it hard to breathe.
He got so close up into my face that it made me very uncomfortable. Not that the choking grip on my neck wasn't, it just added to my already high discomfort. "You don't get to make any requests and you especially don't get to order me around." His grip tightened even more, making my vision blurry as I felt like I was going to pass out. "Know your place." He growled before letting go of my neck, making me drop to the ground, coughing as I rubbed my neck lightly. I could almost feel it turn all shades of blue and purple. Jack reached down to grab me and surprisingly threw me over his shoulder. That move startled me and I almost started kicking out of reflex. Still a little weak from lack of oxygen and also terrified as hell of what he might do when I anger him even more, I just let it happen and let him carry me back to the house.
Arriving at the house, he carried me straight to the bathroom and threw me on the hard, cold floor. He left briefly to get some sort of bag which he also threw at me. "Take a shower. You look like shit. 5 minutes." He ordered before leaving the room and locking the door behind him. I didn't hear any footsteps leaving so I assumed he was waiting in front of the door. I felt the urge to just start crying right then and there but looking down at me I felt like he was right. I did look like shit. All muddy from sliding down that hill. I saw some rips in my clothes as well. And I didn't even wanna think about the state of my socks. I carefully took a look at the bag he threw at me and opened it to see a variety of clothes. My clothes? Did he go back to my house and grabbed my stuff? He even brought a bunch of underwear. Somehow I felt even more uncomfortable thinking about him rummage around my underwear. But at the same time I was very glad he did because some fresh underwear and in general just some clean clothes were the best thing that could've possibly happened to me right now. Well, except just going home already.
I slowly got up and got rid of all the nasty old clothes I was wearing to step into the shower. He only gave me 5 minutes so I should probably hurry up. I didn't want him barging back in before I had the chance to get dressed. I got rid of all the dirt in my hair and on my skin as quickly as I could, got out of the shower and patted myself dry with a towel before grabbing some random clothes from the back to put on. Seemed like Jack was nice enough to just grab some comfortable sweatpants and hoodies. I ended up with a pair of black sweatpants and a white shirt with a blue hoodie over it. I took a quick glance at the mirror. My neck was indeed turning blue and purple. My face wasn't really pretty either though. I looked pale with dark circles under my eyes. I just looked straight up exhausted. Even a good shower couldn't fix that. I sighed, as I heard the door unlock again and Jack just barging in. He looked at me for a second before quickly fixing up the bandages on my hand once more, grabbing my arm and pulling me out of the bathroom. Thank god I already had all my clothes on. He probably wouldn't have given me any extra time.
Instead of pulling me back to my room, he pulled me in the other direction, straight into the living room and threw me onto the couch. He seemed to have moved the chains from me bed to this couch and put them on both of my ankles. "You are going to stay right here, where I can see you. And if I see any wrong movement from you I will make you regret it." He said as he fastened the last chain on my ankle. He then went towards an armchair right next to the couch, plopping down on it as he crossed his arms and just stared at me. I uncomfortably shifted in my seat, not knowing if I should stare back at him or look somewhere else.
Well, this is just gonna be great.
