My heart raced as I felt a warm kiss on the side of my neck, his beard tickling me in a playful manner. "What are you doing here, amour?" His deep voice sent shivers down my spine as he pulled me close. "I've been looking everywhere for you. Come on, let's go, everyone is waiting for us." With his hand intertwined with mine, he led me through the grand front doors of the impressive home. As we walked, I couldn't help but admire his tall stature and broad figure. The suit he wore hugged his body perfectly, accentuating his muscles with each step.

To my surprise, when he opened the doors to the main room, I was met with a vibrant scene of hundreds of people laughing, dancing, and enjoying their time. The room was filled with the lively sounds of music and chatter, and the air was thick with the scent of food and drinks.

Confused and curious, I turned to look at the man beside me for answers. It was then that I realized it was Zephyr, the same man who had caused so much pain and turmoil in my life. But this time, he looked different - affectionate and charming.

My breath caught in my throat as he lovingly placed his hand on my stomach, caressing my growing baby bump. "What's wrong, amour? You look like you've seen a ghost." His words jolted me out of my thoughts. "Did you forget about your baby shower already?"

I jolted awake, my body covered in sweat and my heart racing. It took a few seconds for me to calm down, realizing that it was just another nightmare. Relief flooded over me as I looked down at my stomach, still flat and non-pregnant. I ran my hand over it in reassurance, trying to shake off the remnants of the dream. For days now, I've been haunted by these recurring dreams ever since I first laid eyes on the contract.

The first rays of sunlight were peeking through the windows, signalling the start of a new day. I stretched my arms above my head, yawning away the tiredness. The bathroom door creaked open, and Zephyr emerged, his wet hair sticking to his neck and shoulders. He had a towel draped over his muscular frame, leaving little to the imagination. My eyes couldn't help but roam over his toned body before quickly looking away when he caught me staring.

"Don't stop on my account," he said with a smirk. "Il mio corpo è per il tuo piacere, moglie mia." I rolled my eyes and threw a pillow at him, which he effortlessly caught and tossed back onto the bed. Ignoring his teasing, I made my way into the bathroom to freshen up, calling him some colorful names on the way.

(Translation: "My body is for your pleasure, my wife.")

As I got ready for work, the sun continued to rise and paint the sky with hues of pink and orange. It was going to be a beautiful day. I had plans to visit my brother later on since it was my day off today, but those plans were put on hold when an SOS message came in from Dante and I was called into headquarters.

With my arms full of belongings, I hurried to my car. The once bustling place now stood eerily quiet, a stark difference from the usual chatter of fifty people. Where was everyone? As I passed by the kitchen, I heard Orillia's voice calling out for me. Dressed in her usual polished and poised manner, I couldn't help but wonder how she managed to look this way so early in the morning.

"Would you like something to eat before you leave, cara?" Orillia gestured towards a beautifully set table, tempting aromas wafting from the dishes. My stomach grumbled at the sight, but with office work waiting for me, I declined politely.

"That's alright, thank you. I'm in a hurry." I smiled gratefully before making my way out, but Orillia called after me once again.

"Don't worry, dear. Take this coffee and lunch bag for the road." I was taken aback by her kindness and accepted the items with thanks. As I left, I noticed Zephyr's car still parked next to mine. For a moment, I wondered why he wasn't inside, but quickly pushed the thought away. Why did it even matter?
