Tenko couldn't help but let out a yawn as he continued his walk in the lone and street lamp-lit streets.

The number of people hiding and surrounding him seemed to be numbered proportionate to the size of the buildings they're in, so the more he got near the Central Tower, the more people per square foot he had to keep aware of. But still, none of them have made any moves so his whole walk has been peaceful and boring.

If they didn't have Jin hostage, he probably would have made the first move. But for all he knew, Jin was never in the Central Tower in the first place, and was actually left with a group in one of these buildings, then he would've unknowingly hurt his league member, not even mentioning the delicate nature of Jin's body. He can't risk it.

Ahh, what a pain.

Also. Why doesn't Tenko seem surprised that Re-Nocchio and his Paranormal Deliberation Whats-It has this many people?

He and his dad knew that a growing 'right to bear Quirks' movement has been gaining traction in numerous cities, notably in smaller cities like Deika City where he's currently at, so they have been taking note of said growth for a while. That's why when they noticed that Deika City, which felt the strongest and was the loudest about the movement at one point, suddenly dropped its interest in the movement, and stagnated, it striked them as odd.

Re-Doof and his Deliberation troupe had awakened and had been somewhat active since All for One's "imprisonment," but it wasn't until the former set Deika City as their meeting place a few days ago did the connection click. That guy actually managed to recruit an entire city.

As much as Tenko doesn't want to admit it, he's impressed.

The last time something like that happened was probably almost 40-50 years ago.

Tenko couldn't help but smile and chuckle at the memory of the times he learned of their dad's feats.

At first, their dad never mentioned anything, they just went on with his training and lessons and what he would need to do someday. Tenko simply went along with all of it since he wasn't fully sure about everything himself.

He was indifferent. He didn't ask too many questions beyond what he needed to ask, and he, for the most part, just went with how things were.

But that all changed in one day, when Tenko actually got to see how powerful their dad and his Quirks are. How amazing and cool their dad was.

It was only a small demonstration, and their dad just wanted to show him what he too can do when the time comes, but to Tenko, it changed his whole view of their dad. How Izuku looks at All Might and all the other heroes was probably how Tenko looked at their dad at that moment.

He began to wonder about what other stuff their dad can do, he got more curious about all the stuff their dad does for work, he wanted to know all that his dad had done and accomplished.

Some of the stories came from the tutors and teachers that came to teach him when his dad was too busy to teach him himself, some were from the people who had worked for his dad for a long time, and some were even from Adohira and Gigantomachia.

Their dad didn't always indulge Tenko's curiosity about his previous feats, but when he did, Tenko couldn't help but feel so proud and glad that someone so amazing was their father, and he had began to idolize their dad again.

Those were his greatest memories of their dad. Just feelings of pure awe towards the man that raised him and his brother and gave them all they have.

...but that was why...

That's why--!

That's why it hurt him a lot when he learned what their dad didn't do. He was betrayed by the only man he had ever looked up to-- he was betrayed by that man for a second time. Their dad had abandoned Izuku in his time of need, just like he abandoned him 13 years ago.

He just looked away, exactly as he did all those years ago.

Just why?

Just how?!

How is he able to do it so easily?! How is he able to abandon us like that so easily?! When we needed him?!

Tenko's eyes began to feel hot as tears began welling up in his eyes. The hidden people monitoring him seemed to have raised their guards when they saw him suddenly stop in his tracks, and no doubt they're reporting back to that Rikiya about what's happening.

Damn it.

Why now of all times? Why did he have to start thinking about his dad again in the middle of this?

Really now. Damn it.

Tenko took a long deep breath to calm himself.

He then lowered his face to obstruct the hidden people's view of his face, and discreetly, he removed the preserved hand on his face, just enough to gain him access to his eyes and cheeks, and he began wiping off his tears with the back of his hand.

He doesn't care if that Rikiya sees this and believe this was Tenko shaking in his boots scared of him, he just wanted to erase any evidence that he was crying because of their dad.

After he was convinced that he had wiped off the last of the tears on his face, he placed the hand mask properly on his face again, and resumed his walk.

He should be nearing the Central Tower soon.

NOTES: I finished binge-watching a tear-jerker of a show in less than 48 hours before starting to write this chapter. I thought I had recovered from my tearful episodes, but nope! I got hit by a truck when I started writing the part about Tenko and his adoration of their father. 🥹

Also, fun fact! I had absolutely no idea what I was going to write for this chapter! So I just started it with Tenko walking and yawning. The part about Tenko reminiscing was completely adlibbed! :D Which made the dumptruck of tears feel even worse!
