Pray for a Content Heart

Even rich people want to get richer. However, it also causes a distorted mindset on how we see life. For some, they want to get rich to prove something while others want to get rich so they will "fully" enjoy life.

Friends, God wants us to enjoy life—that's the truth. But a lot of us want to enjoy life on our own terms.

Kanina habang tumitingin ako ng pictures about the luxurious life in Dubai, napaisip talaga ako. Sabi ko, "Grabe, Lord 'no?" Haha! Sa Dubai kasi your possession speaks your wealth. Talagang pinapangalandakan na mayaman ka kasi you own a lot of sports car, maraming pera sa banko... anything that the world consider as luxury.

Pero sa tingin mo masaya talaga sila? It could be that they are happy because they have value in the society—a temporary happiness. But how about your value in the sight of God?

My point here is even if we have everything in this world pero ang ating puso ay hindi marunong makuntento, we still feel ill about our lives.

Nothing can beat a grateful and content heart. "I want more!" "I deserve more!"

Jesus said, "Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?" (Matthew 6:25-27)

We are worth more than many sparrows!

Friends, God wants a grateful and content heart. But does this mean nabuhay tayong mahirap at mamamatay pa rin tayong mahirap?

To end, joy comes from God and it's only in Him you are fully satisfied. And when you are satisfied with God, you will no longer thirst for worldly things.

Prayer:

Father God, I am sorry for wanting more when I can't even appreciate what You have given me now. Give me a content heart that I may not want more of the things of the world but to desire more of You. This I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
