Monday came along as quickly as the weekend ended. Nothing really felt the same as last Monday though. It seemed this time instead of dreading the morning ahead of me, I'd instead longed for it because I had someone to see.
That pretty guy I'd fallen for without warrant. Who's somehow also fallen for me. And I don't think I'll ever not be in disbelief about that.
I skipped through school, casually passing by some familiar faces of my peers and a few teachers. I was in search of my Friends, who didn't know about Saiki and I's knew-found relationship. It was like a secret I felt so bad for keeping.
But I didn't know my boyfriends stance on it which meant I'd leave it alone for now.
As I entered the courtyard, I saw my group of friends and a certain blue haired girl laughing beside them all. Kusuo's stern face just stared at the girl with a look of boredness.
I approached calmly even though I felt a ping of jealousy in my chest, I tried to control my thoughts.
"Hey, guys," I looked between all of my friends with a genuine smile. Nendo and Kaido waved with equally friendly smiles; Aren just Face a simple nod while Saiki watched me with a closer mouth.
Teruhashi glanced my way but no words left her mouth. As if she was just pretending I wasn't even there.
"Anyways, I loved your presentation about cells Saiki! It was really well written and your slides were nice," Teruhashi continued on with her harassment.
Saiki rolled his eyes and flashed a glance my way, "Thanks."
"And your notes were very well organized! I wish I could write like you," She pressed as if looking for some kind of gratification, "Did I mention-"
"Can You leave?" Saiki spoke harshly But a twinge of annoyance. Her Face quickly changed from happy and pretty to something twisted with rage. It seems as though her True colors shined through.
"You're so Funny, Saiki!" She giggled And her demeanor changed again.
"I wasn't joking," He persisted.
Kaido made a Short gasping Sound from my side, "He's so blunt to her! I could never say that to Teruhashi!" I couldn't help but sneak a side glance at the girl as she fumed once again.
"Ah, I didn't know you were busy! Talk to You later, Saiki!" She waved politely before stomping off into the crowd of students passing her by.
"God, she's so annoying," Kusuo mumbled before taking a bite of his rice from his lunchbox.
"Why don't you just shut her down?" Aren spoke through a mouthful of chips.
"Can't You see I've tried?" He groaned, "She's desperate for my validation that I don't want to even give to her."
"Why is she so obsessed with you anyway?" Nendo said with a saddened tone, "Doesn't the queen Teruhashi know I will treat her right?" He sniffled with a silly choked sob. I couldn't help but giggle, I mean really?
"You can have her," Kusuo stared of into the horizon, and then staring at me. I hadn't realized I'd been staring but I quickly turned my head away.
"She doesn't want me!" Nendo sobbed dramatically. His hands going up in fists at the sky as if he was cursing the gods for something out of their control. A chuckle left my throat.
"Besides, I don't want a certain someone getting jealous," Saiki's eyes stayed glued to mine.
Everyone turned to the mysterious boy, but I knew what he was hinting at. It was clear as day he was discussing me. His girlfriend. And, Wow, that felt weird to say.
"Who?" Kaido asked with extreme curiosity.
"Wait, Saiki got a girlfriend?" Nendo said loudly, patting his back like he would bounce a basketball. His hand slapped the back of Saiki's smaller frame.
"That was an unexpected Turn," Aren chuckled while crumpling up his empty bag of chips.
Kusuo's eyes lingered on me a bit too long, and the group caught on before all turning to me with bright eyes and even brighter smiles.
"Oh my god! You And Saiki?"
