As we walked back, I looked at Thomas, trying not to smile. Although I may have gotten in trouble with Thomas, I couldn't help but think about how hilarious Thomas' reaction was.

"I still don't trust him, (Y/N). However, we don't really have a choice." My dad whispered into my ear.

"Yes, but do you also see him? He has an innocent look in his eyes."

"He also has a protective spirit."

"Obviously." I smiled a little.

"I want you to be very careful being around him, you don't know who he really is."

I nod, "I understand."

As we walk back I noticed Thomas looked uncomfortable and even scared. He looked at Luda before looking at my dad, then at me. As soon as he saw me looking he looked away instantly.

"So, I'm going to the same school as Tommy, right?"

"Yes. As much as I don't like the idea of you being around him, you know him more than anyone else in this neighborhood right now.." My dad said in defeat

"Dad, what is actually going on? You seem so nervous about Tommy."

He looked at me and stopped me, leaning into my ear and whispering, "I can't say in front of them."

I nodded in response before continuing to walk.

Luda looked at me with concern before looking at Thomas.

"He's just a young boy trying to find a friend." Luda said with a smile.

I smiled in response while my dad shook his head and sighed.

"I understand that but-"

I hit my dad's side with my elbow, interrupting him.

"When will I start school?" I asked my dad as I looked him.

"Tomorrow. I know we just moved in but you need good grades for your career."

Right... My career. My dad has been wanting me to become a lawyer, but I can't help but think about how lawyers have the highest rate of depression and suicidal thoughts. I don't want to be like that. Besides, I have another career in thought.

"Dad, I want to be a reporter. You know? Like for paranormal activity-"

"No, (Y/N), we already discussed that. Paranormal activity is not real, ghosts and spirits aren't real. You wouldn't be making good money. Absolutely not."

"Ghosts are real! Remember that time when our candle was suddenly put out at our old house?"

"Draft."

"OUR HOUSE WAS COMPLETELY SEALED." I exclaimed in anger.

"Coincidence." My dad said and rolled his eyes.

"Whatever you say to keep your mind off the truth..." I mumbled.

"What did you say?"

I looked at my dad and rolled my eyes.

"You're lucky they're walking with us right now." He said as he grabbed my arm secretly and dug his nails into my arm, leaving five clear marks.

"(Y/N)?" Luda then said as my dad let go and I looked at her.

"Hm?"

"Are you feeling oka- DEAR YOU'RE BLEEDING!" Luda exclaimed as she pointed to my arm that my dad grabbed.
