Novalee sat in her classroom at her desk, writing notes in her book , a small smile on her face.

"Psst, nova," novalee lifted her head and glanced behind her, seeing billy smiling at her ,"you have an extra pencil? Mine just broke," he whispered, showing her his broken pencil

"Yeah," novalee grabbed an extra pencil from her pencil box and handed it to billy, their fingers slightly brush against each other

Billy smile got a little bigger but novalee didn't noticed ,"thanks," she nodded and turned back to her notes

Ten minutes past and soon the bell ranged, everyone stood up collecting their stuff.

Novalee closed her notebook and threw it in her school bag before standing up, before walking out of the classroom

"Hey Nova wait up," she glanced behind her as billy jogged to catch up with her, he soon caught up with her and walked beside her.

Novalee smiled at billy and he smiled back ,"thanks for the pencil, you saved my life back there," he said and she chuckled

"Glad to know that I saved billy loomis life by letting him borrow a pencil," she said in a amused tone

He let out a laugh, and she giggled, billy looked at her, his eye's full of adoration, he was about to speak but was cut off before he could by Tatum riley,

"Nova! Love the outfit, oh hey billy," Tatum said, hooking her arm with novalee,

"Thanks tatum," novalee smiled ,"hey tatum," billy said, forcing a smile

"Oh yeah, sid was looking for you billy, she was by Mr. Turners class, don't keep her waiting billy boy,go on," Tatum said, shooing billy away

Billy rolled his eye's before looking at novalee with a small smile ,"see you later," with that he walked away , the smile on his face disappearing

Tatum turned to novalee ,"what was that?" She asked, removing her arm from novalee and crossing her arm's

Novalee gave her a confused look ,"huh? What was what?" She asked

"You know billy is Sidneys boyfriend right? Your sisters boyfriend?" Tatum said, empathizing the word boyfriend

Novalee nodded ,"yeah, I know that Tatum, " she told her

"Well then why are you being all lovey-dovey with him?" She asked and novalee was more confused

"Uh..I'm not? Billy is my bestfriend, you know bestfriend laugh, tease, mock each other right? Wait..are you saying I can't do that anymore because he's dating Sidney? Oh my god,have I been overstepping? I don't know the rules of dating Tatum! I never had a boyfriend!" Novalee ranted, starting to freak out

"Nova, relax, I should be apologizing, I just misunderstood something, you're fine, you're not overstepping," Tatum told her, calming her down

Novalee sigh in relief, "oh thank god," she said ,"and you not having a boyfriend should be a crime, these boy's literally have no eyes, you're a beauty," Tatum said

Novalee chuckled ,slightly shaking her head ,"I'm not that beautiful, Sidney the one that got the looks," she said

"Yo nova!" Novalee looked over and smiled seeing her other friends, steve orth and Casey becker waving her over

"Sorry tat, gotta go, I'll see you later," novelee said before walking towards steve and Casey.

Tatum stared at novalee as she walked away, she noticed the way every person stared at her as she walked,

Tatum scoff, shaking her head ,"pervs," she mumbled before she turned around and walked away

Novalee smiled as she approached steve and Casey ,"hey Casey, hey steve what's up?"

"Well, I'm throwing a party tonight, you coming right? " Casey asked ,"yeah, we need to see more of those dance moves of yours," steve added

"Yeah, sure, " novalee said, with a nod ,and a smile
