Billy paced around the waiting room, stu was sitting down, bouncing his leg up and down, Tatum sat beside him with an annoyed expression on her face, Randy sat on the other of stu, with a slight angry but worried expression on his face,

Julian sat a few seats away from them, holding ice to his cheek,

"Can you stop pacing? It's getting annoying, and would you stop bouncing your leg? Gosh, it's her arm. It's not like you guys cracked her skull open," Tatum said , with an eye roll ,

"We did this, Tatum, we hurt Nova," stu mumbled, tears streaming down his face,

"God, I can't get her sobs out my head, " he added, shakily wiping his tears.

"Snap out of it!" Tatum told him, snapping her fingers in front of his face, startling him,

"Novalee will be fine, so stop being pathetic, okay?" Tatum said,

"Shut up, tatum," Randy snapped, and Tatum turned to look at him with a glare,

"You're the one who told him to stop Billy and Julian from fighting. He's upset, and he has a right to be upset, okay? So shut up and sit back, and keep your mouth shut," Randy told her,

"It..it wasn't my fault, right? I mean.. I didn't push her, right? I couldn't have pushed her, right? " All three of them turned to look at Billy, who had stopped pacing, who had taken a seat in front of them, staring at the floor ,

"I didn't hurt her, right? " Billy asked in a small voice, Randy stood up, going over and sitting next to Billy, putting a comforting hand on his shoulder ,

"I..I didn't mean to hurt her, I never wanted to hurt her, this....this ..This is all my fault," Billy mumbled,

Randy noticed that Billy's hands were shaking, and Billy abruptly stood up, "Tell her I'm sorry, tell her i..I never meant to hurt her, okay? " Billy said before rushing off,

Nobody saw the tears that streamed down his face, but everyone saw how broken he was ,

Stu quickly followed him, he followed him outside, it was dark out, it was midnight, almost the next day,

"Billy!" Stu called out his name, and Billy punched the side of the hospital, letting out a yell,

"Billy! Stop!" Stu grabbed Billy's fist before he could punch the wall again, and Billy let out a sob,

"It's all my fault stu, if I hadn't let my jealousy get in the way, nova would be home, sleeping and not in the hospital, God, she's in so much pain stu, I can't get her scream out of my head, it's like it's on repeat, " Billy said, taking a deep breath,

"It..it wasn't our fault," stu told him in a reassuring voice. It sounded like he was trying to convince himself that it wasn't their fault, that it wasn't his fault,

"We...I was fighting stu, I was told to stop, but I just couldn't, I hate Julian, I hate that he has Novas attention, I hate that he gets to have her," billy told him, wiping his tears,

"What...what does he have that we don't? Huh? Why does he get to have her? We have known her our whole lives, and he just...he just came out of nowhere and took her, it isn't fair," Billy added,

"I know , I want Nova as much as you do, but if she's happy with someone else, then... then maybe we should let her be happy?" Stu said,

"I want her to be happy with us!" Billy yelled, "maybe...if she forgive us, then..then maybe we could just take her and run away from here, start over, just the three of us," Billy added,

"She doesn't even remember us, Billy, plus she won't leave her pets behind or her sister, you know that," stu told him,

"I know, but a man could be hopeful,"

Novalee closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. The doctors had told her that her bones in her arm were broken again, and her wrist bone was sticking out, which is why her cast was stained red,

They had just told her that she had to go into surgery again, fix her arm again, and that she had a 50/50 percent chance that she would be able to move her hand again,

"Can't...can't we wait until my dad gets here? " novalee asked, opening her eyes again, and looking at the doctors,

"I'm sorry we can't. If we wait any longer, you might lose your arm, we have to do this surgery now," the doctor told her,

Novalee nodded, taking a shaky breath, "Can...can I at least see my friends? I want to see Billy and stu before I go into surgery," she said

"Of course, but make it quick," the doctor said, before exiting the room, "I'll go get them," Sidney said, and novalee nodded, watching as Sidney left the room,

Sidney walked into the waiting room, spotting Randy, Tatum, and Julian, but didn't see Billy nor stu anywhere

"Where's Billy and stu?" Sidney questioned, "they left," Randy replied

"A bunch of assholes, claiming to be her friends, and they just left," Julian scoffed out,

"How long ago did they leave?" Sidney questioned, ignoring Julian,

"A few minutes ago, why?" Tatum replied, "because nova wants to see them," Sidney said before rushing out of the hospital,

As Sidney rushed out, she almost bumped into Billy and stu, who were coming back inside,

"Oh, thank god, you guys are still here," Sidney sighs in relief, "is Nova okay?" Stu questioned

"She wants to see you guys before she heads into surgery. They're only giving her a couple of minutes , go see her," Sidney told them,

"You sure she wants to see us?" Billy questioned, and Sidney nodded ,"she specifically asked for the two of you, go now,"

Billy and stu nodded before they rushed to novalees hospital room.

Novalee nervously and patiently waited for Billy and stu. She was losing hope that they were coming by each passing second,

She stared at the door waiting for them, and she didn't have to wait any longer, as the door opened and Billy and stu walked in ,

Novalee gave them a small smile, "You came,"

"Always," stu told her, as they came to stand beside her,

"We are so sorry, nova," Billy told her, and novalee shook her head, "don't apologize Billy, it wasn't your fault, it was an accident," she told them

"It is our fault. You're in the hospital again because of us," stu told her ,

"It was an accident, okay? It was not your fault. It is not your fault," she told them,

"We love you, novalee," Billy blurted out, unable to control himself, novalee smiled ,"I love you guys too,"

"No, I mean, we love you, " Billy said, caressing the side of her face, before leaning down and placing his lips on top of novalees,

He pulled back, and stu kissed novalee , before pulling back, both of them looking at her, as novalee stared at them with wide eyes,

Before novalee could say anything, the doctor walked back into the room, " I'm sorry, but it's time,"

Billy and stu backed up, letting the doctors take novalee out of the room,

As the door closed , stu let out a small chuckle, "her lips are so soft," Billy nodded in agreement,

"I was thinking about earlier.....about what I said that we should just take her and run away from here,...but you said that she wouldn't leave her sister....let's kill her, Sidney, let's kill Sidney, then novalee would be able to run away with us," Billy said and stu nodded

"Okay,"
