He was in a grey jungle. No, that's literally it. Everything seemed light grey and almost 2 dimensional as there was no shadows anywhere. Leaves, bushes, ground, etc. Would shift in shades of grey individually and randomly.

Vosh's eyes widen in fright. "WHERE'S THE "?????" STATUS EFFECT??!?!" He panics.
That status effect was the system representation of his connection to his main body through pseudo superposition. If it's not there the only reason is that he no longer exists within superposition between existence and non existence and has now become a fully fledged being within this [Reality].
"How? I only died, I should've appeared in my main body and not become a resident of this [Reality]. THIS MAKES ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE!!!" He anxiously thinks to himself trying to fathom what was happening.
"Wait.... Why can't I perceive the novel anymore?" Vosh asks himself, realizing that his existence wasn't being perceived as a bunch of words on paper anymore.
He couldn't tell what the narrator was saying or if he's saying something.
Narrator: I'm gonna fuck your mom Vosh.
